|I began using findagrave primarily to find and memorialize my family members, many of whom I do not even know the place of burial. I also enjoy fulfilling photo requests. Since many other genealogists have similar goals and issues locating family, I have expanded my efforts and have begun adding all the memorials (with grave photos) for the Jewish cemeteries in my local area.|
Due to copyright rules, I do not post obituaries. However, if you have one for a memorial I have posted, e-mail it to me and I would be glad to keep it on file to help with researching family members. I do basic genealogical searches to add maiden names, missing birth or death dates, and link parents with children, where possible. In this way, I hope to provide the basics for anyone searching for family.
I will gladly transfer management of any of my memorials to family members (please provide your relationship). If I find that a person is in a family tree on ancestry.com, I will try and notify the tree creator that I have created a memorial on findagrave.
Please use the edit function, if you are providing additional information or corrections for a memorial.
Use of my grave photos is for non-profit purposes only, with proper photo credits to me.

Thanks Jeff for getting that photo.

Eek, I didn't look. I have to return, however, and will check the back of the stone. Lots of other requests for that cemetery.

I am looking for the correct Harry Shapiro who was born in the 1880's. He came from Kiev in 1906 and settled in Boston. He had a sister named Rachel who married Morris Kessler an they moved out to California in 1920. I know Harry had a daughter named Bessie and possibly other children as well. I know Bessie was married, she smoked a lot and adopted a child. She died in the 1970's of lung cancer. My great aunt Esther Kessler Hochman used to visit her in Boston and bessie introduced her to their mutual cousin; an aspiring actor named Leonard Nimoy. If anyone has information I would love to hear from you.

Thank you so much for the photographs! I am in Canada and researching the Springfield/Warren area.
A number of my relatives settled in the area and I have a big job trying to track down photos of areas they commonly went to as well as their family history.
If you ever meet someone from Beth Israel who is into helping family historians, I might love to chat with them over email.
I'd like you to know that any time someone helps me from afar, it bolsters my enthusiasm for more research.

I made your links. Thanks for contacting me as I always love to link family. Harry Kalin was my husband's uncle.
