RE: Key In Georgetown, KY
Hi Mike,

Yes I am the youngest child of Cliff and Drama Key, born in 1954. I had read the name Ransom somewhere along the way, but really didn't make the connection. I have been to the cemetery in Blount Co, TN with my father right before his health turned bad, it was in 1997. He also showed me where their family farm was, the only thing left at that time was a barn. But the school where his father was a teacher in Miser Station was still standing at that time. Unfortunately, I wasn't prepared for the trip and didn't really keep the notes I should have kept. I thought we would go back. I will keep you updated and if I run across any additional information I will let you know.

RE: Key In Georgetown, KY
Hello Mike,

It was nice of you to reach out to me. You are right, we don't live that far apart in mileage, but a lifetime apart as family. I have never known anything much about my Dad's family. The only people I ever met lived in Tennessee and not many of them. Of my family, I have one sister still living in Indiana, Joyce Key Adams (82) and 3 brothers Irvin (73) Cincinnati William Key (70) Columbus OH and James Key (68) Florence KY. Between aqll siblings, there are close to 40 children, over 60 granchildren and many great granchildren, a few great great grandchildren. We are trying to get a family reunion together this June at my nieces in Indiana. I will send you more info as the dates and location get confirmed. The last one we had was in Marysville, TN about 1997, before my dad got ill and passed in 2000. My mailing address is PO Box 18241 Erlanger, KY 41018

It would be very nice to meet you sometime.

RE: No Headstone For Opal Key Reed?
Hi Mike,
I visited the cemetery office several years ago & her husband had never made any arrangements for a marker. He died after her & is buried next to her. I also spoke to Patsy, his daughter & Opal's step-daughter shortly before she, Patsy, passed away. We discussed sharing expenses & getting a companion headstone for the two of them. I didn't realize how ill she was & she passed away before we did anything.

RE: Green Rogers Cemetery Photo?
Hi Mike,

Thanks for your message. I do not have any pictures of the Green Rogers Cemetery other than the pictures that I posted. It is a small cemetery that is in a grove of trees surrounded by cow pasture. It is not maintained and it looks like cattle has gotten into the cemetery and knocked over the head stones. It is located in the middle of a farm off Stubbs Lane near Porter Pike. The next time I visit the cemetery I will be happy to take a picture of the grove of trees.

Thanks,
Greg

RE: GPS Coords For Hensley Cemetery
I have never been to that part of KY. I know about the cemetery as it was my family's. I have family records that show Martha & Laura buried there.

RE: GPS Coords For Hensley Cemetery
Also, would be nice to know the street name this cemetery is located on. Many people (including myself) don't have GPS and smart phones so we go by the street names. I put how many miles past a certain town, street, like people have done for years. If you have that info, please add too.

RE: GPS Coords For Hensley Cemetery
I have 2 Hensley's listed are both are my direct family so we want to keep them and add info, pictures whenever they are found. Thanks for taking their headstone pictures, always nice to know they have them.

RE: Poindexter Family Cemetery
Assuming Google Maps is correct about the county line, The Poindexter Family Cemetery is a few hundred yards into Scott County. The 1850, 1860, and 1870 censuses also list the Poindexters in Scott County.

I do not own the land. My wife's cousin, Randall Hockensmith, owns the land.

I added 2 new graves today. I hope to revisit the cemetery soon to look for buried headstones.

Thanks,
Justin

Mike, you never did delete your photo in this cemetery. We talked about it last year. Don't think it's related to the area. Just happened to run across it again while looking at the Scott County cemeteries.
