I love cemeteries!! That might sound strange to some people, but it is true! When I was a young girl not only did we visit our family cemeteries, my Dad would take us into a random cemetery when we were on vacation. He would teach us to read the headstones and get a picture of the history. |
Now when I travel I do the same. I am also hunting for my people! My maternal families are Smith, Addy, Belew, Caraway, Joiner, Johnson. Locations are VA, NC, SC, GA, AL & MS. My paternal families are Lesak, Viduna, Broz, Vesely. Locations are Chicago, IL & Czech Republic.
I have no problem sharing my photos of graves, feel free to use them in your family tree and research. If I have created a memorial and you are a relative...let me know, would be glad to transfer, unless I am also a family member.

In Section 25 Lot 232 Grave 1
There is a obelisk marker for the Cejka Family
I was there in 2000 visiting - I live in California - and was using an old 35 mm film camera. Thought I took good photos, but when they were developed I was unable to read the inscriptions on the marker.
Any possible way on your next visit you could photograph the various inscriptions and photo plaques?
Just e-mail to me?
It would be appreciated very much

|Candice Linney Foster Tucker||Sydney (Sidney) Jane H. Nickell Drummond|
Ginny, Correct information regarding Sydney Drummond is in the profile I created for her in the Auberry Grove/ Hayes Cemetery in Daviess Cty, MO. #91834234
I personally took the photos of her full-length body stone covering her grave.
My family members and I first located Auberry Grove in 2012 and then I once again visited the cemetery this summer (2014). In just the two short years, time and weather has taken a toll on the headstones and markers located in the cemetery.
I made note of her second memorial #74688947.
I believe that when her husband died - James Patrick Drummond, family members buried him in the Jamesport Masonic Cemetery and added her dates on his stone. I don't believe there was any possible way to remove the body stone covering her grave and moving her body to Jamesport.
Thanks for the interest.

Say, Thanks Ginny for finding Paul & Charlotte in Riverview in South Bend and providing those photographs !!! I've updated their sites.
I should have guessed they might be in the Family Plots there, as some other of the family is there. But they had lived in Michigan for so many years I was assuming their burial was there.
Paul was a direct 3rd Cousin to my Father (a Third once removed form me). I hadn't seen them or been in contact for many years, since the 70s.
Thanks for clearing up the mystery.
You're a Super Lady !!

|Audrey DeCamp Hoffman||Hi Ginny,|
You, being a distant cousin to my grandma Winnie Gulley Hawkins, makes you a distant cousin to me also. I accept and love all cousins no matter how far distant that they are. Thanks for letting me know that you have read my memories.

|Diane Clobus Dean||Mary Specht Memorial|
The edit you suggested is done.
Would you like me to transfer Mary Specht to you?
|Kendall Mellem||Georgio again|
His memorial looks great. The note you added is perfect!
|Kendall Mellem||George Blaiklock again|
I note that you are generous about transfers. (I am too!) But I am not requesting one. I'm not related, just curious, and transfer is not necessary, esp. if you don't mind making any updates or links I come across as I research. :-)
|Kendall Mellem||George Blaiklock|
Ginny, I just emailed you a burial record via Ancestry.com from
"Quebec, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967" for George Blaiklock 96795195, so you could judge for yourself. I think this death/burial record must be for the George Blaiklock, architect, and a few sites online recording his work and/or biography also give it. And yet the stone is different. Well, you can do as you think best. I am not related to these people--just became kind of fascinated with the names and lives of those buried in this cemetery when we vacationed in Quebec last year. You're a cemetery lover too, so I'm sure you understand my interest.

Thank for taking the time out of your day to get these photos.
Good luck in your own research!

Thanks! I just noticed I forgot to give your her maiden name, so I just put in another edit!
