|I have been a student of my family history since my childhood when I listened to my Grandmother tell family stories. This continued with genealogical trips with my mother, and I continued the tradition with my children. My family has tended to stay in the Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia area.|
I'm always eager to meet "new" cousins.

No thanks necessary, she was my cousin, so was quite happy to do it. It's nice to know she is so fondly thought of by both sides of her family. I would love to make it up to the cemetery to get a picture of the marker.

Of course you can use the photo, I can probably find a better one to send you directly. Thank you for asking, it is appropriate to ask and I appreciate the courtesy.
I'm going to contact you directly so we can talk about Simpsons.

Aunt Mary died last week and she is buried with her husband. She is on this website.

I see that Jacob Wolfe was your 4th Great Grandfather. He was mine also. I was descended from Solomon Wolfe and Jacob George Wolfe, and his daughter Annette (Nettie) was my Great Grandmother. Hope to hear back from you. I have renewed my interest in family genealogy recently and find it fascinating. Almost like putting together a big puzzle and searching for all of the missing pieces.

Thank you, Mary!
I appreciate the info you provided. I had never heard the term 'conductor' used when references were made to the underground railroad. Yes, I knew what it was and to my dismay couldn't believe my daughter thought it was an actual railroad! Either they didn't teach that in school or her mind was absent that day. I want her to read what you sent - thanks again, Mary.

Hi- Michael Alt was also my 5th great grandfather and believe this gravesite is on my cousin's land in Upper Tract, WV if I'm not mistaken. I visited it many times as a child. My great grandfather was George Edward Alt (1889-1980). I come from a long line of Jacob and Michael Alt's before that! Anyway, just recently lost my grandmother, Imogene Shreve Alt, who is buried in Wilson Chapel Cemetery, in Upper Tract. Good to know our bloodline is out there, active and growing!
