Paul Darling Paul Darling, my Uncle Red, did marry my Grandma's sister, Emma Marjorie Keesling. They had two children who are still living and are in the Middletown, Indiana area. Please send me your email address and I will forward you their names and contact information.
I was glad to hear from you. Yes, I knew both Myrtle and Virgil before they were married. I was born in 1946 and my Daddy was good friends with Myrtle's Daddy, his name was Jim Curtis. When I was a little girl in the 1950's, Myrtle lived with us for a year or two and helped my Mom take care of us kids. At that time, Virgil lived down the alley from us in a little garage house and he and Myrtle got to know each other and got married. I didn't know much about Virgil, whether he was married previously or had children. I know that they had a son and two girls, it seems to me that the girls were twins, but I might be wrong about that. I remember one girl was named Sally (I think), my memory is not so good at times. I want to say the other girl was named Diane, but that might not be right. I can't remember what the son's name was, I never met any of their kids personally. I lost track of Myrtle for many years and then I found out she was a resident of a nursing home here in Muncie so I went and started to visit her quite a bit and I would take her little gifts and she was so happy. I remember she had a brother named Roy Curtis and a sister named Ruby Curtis and I don't recall what her mother's name was. But Myrtle got sick and was in the hospital and I went to visit her a couple of times and then she passed away. I thought a lot of her, she was a sweet woman. Her nephew, Jimmy Campbell, and his wife and I went out to the cemetery after she was cremated and they said we could bury her in the grave with Virgil, so we did that, because she didn't have any insurance. I go to visit her grave sometimes and I decorate it here on Find A Grave.
Lura Marsh Jenks Hello Carolyn, I saw your message on Elaine Wilkerson's message board about Lura Marsh Jenks. I have just learned that my great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Jenks Moore, was apparently one of her daughters. I recall my mother talking about the Potts children, but I never really understood the connection until today when I read the bio. information on Samuel Jenks. Now it makes sense, that apparently Lura was his second wife and the Potts children were from her first marriage. Fascinating! Before her passing, my mother was interested in working on her Moore family history, but there is much she was not able to accomplish. Sounds like we are distant cousins, if you are descended from her also. Feel free to reach me directly at email@example.com. Blessings to you!
RE: Sarah Kay Chance Downham (80000591) Carolyn, I do not have any other burial information on the family. Have you contacted Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood to see if they have burial records for him? Sarah was a 3rd cousin, once removed but I did not know her. I would be interested in your connection to the family.
