Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have recently gotten very involved with my mother's genealogical records for our family which she has been working on for over twenty years. She did it "Old-School" with trips all over to cemeteries, libraries and court-houses.

I have been able to put together a lot of the missing pieces of our family puzzle doing internet research, but am grateful for the solid foundation and records my mom has. With her "Old-School", and my "New-School", we have expanded our family heritage tremendously.

I am very interested in the Mooars from New Hampshire and those that moved to Kentucky. Also Pittsburgh German Immigrants, to include my family of Beiles, Wittgartners and Weavers.

I also research the Killian/Killion line from Andreas Killian of Lincoln Co. NC.

I am close to Washington, D.C., and have access to the Genealogy Library at the Library of Congress, so if there is ever anything obscure you would like me to research for you, please let me know.

Anna Margaretha Samsel
Hi! My name is Landon Sampsell, and I am distantly related to Anna Margaretha Samsel. Thank you for posting her stone. We had a Sampsell reunion in Stephens City last year and visited hers and several other Samsels. If memory serves, Anna Margaretha was a daughter of Johann Paul and Anna Catharina Samsel, who emigrated from the Rhineland in 1739 with their son Peter. They had several more children in the New World. Peter, unfortunately, was killed in the revolutionary war in 1777 outside of Philadelphia and is buried beneath Washington Square. Anna seems to have died soon after, unexpectedly. My direct ancestor is their younger brother Nicholas, born 1749 in Bucks county.

Jennifer, found Ed" army papers and he was stationed at Fort Chaffe Ar (not sure of spelling). One of his papers say he was in Alaska but he never told me. He worked at keeping all the jeeps running. Later he could take a car apart and get it back together without any left over parts. Ha

3rd Cousin Peter 1x Removed - Need Help w/ John MacDonald
Hello Jen,

Wrote to you once before about MacKinnon family, and have since heard back from your mom just once. Have tried to contact her again through Ancestry.com, and have left voicemail. Hoping that you or your mom can help with a family story, or picture?

Anyway, my grandfather John R MacDonald passed in 1943, so I never knew him. I have discovered that both he and his brother Daniel went to live with your ggg-grandfather Neil MacKinnon because their mother Lucy (Neil's sister) was ill. She died in 1898 (pic of gravestone is at Ancestry.com) and they stayed at the old homstead in Kempt Head at least through 1911. Since John was cousin to your great grandmother Donandrea, I am hoping that someone in our MacKinnon line has pictures of the cousins together? My grandmother Irene passed in 2003, and she never talked about my grandfather, or shared any pictures. I have no idea what he looks like, but my uncle has assured me that after he is gone, I can rummage through his condo looking for anything I want. That is probably some years away yet, and I would like to keep my searching fresh.

Would truly appreciate if you and your mom could talk and see if there is anything you could find. I have pics of John's gravestone where he and Daniel are buried along with our gg-aunts Katherine and Mary MacKinnon.

Warm Regards,
Cousin Peter

John Robertson
Hi, Jen - I wanted to let you know that when I went to take the photo you had requested of the grave of Esterina M (Bianchi) Robertson, I found the grave of her husband John beside her - and not in the cemetery you have listed in Saint Johnsbury, VT. He is in the Hope Cemetery in Barre, VT - Washington County along with Esterina.
