I am happy to transfer any memorial unless it is one of my own close relatives. I am in Baylor County, TX and will be happy to take photos of any grave you can't find listed.
My family names are Dillard, Cowan, Jackson, Humphrey, Weeks and McAfee. Most in Texas or South Carolina.
I am happy to take photos of any grave in my area of Seymour, Texas. I try to add as many photos as I can if they are my own or from a relative or friend. Now that I am retired I can go more often. So let me know if I can help you get your loved one on findagrave. The grave site will also be linked to ancestry.com which helps so many people get more information about their ancestors and relatives.
Herrings of Tennessee Hello Jody, Thank you for the information about your Herrings. I found my Mother in 2011 (deceased) and am still looking for my Father. I have had some close matches (DNA) on Ancestry and have an idea who he may be, but no definite proof. If you are on Ancestry look up my Aunts line The Emily Herring tree. I've done a lot of research. Thanks again, Karen aka KD Herring
RE: Essie White No, I'm not related to her. I have been told and verified it today that there is a section of the Masonic cemetery that has been renamed the IOOF. It makes it very confusing and I have accidentally made duplicates myself. :)
RE: Grave Sponsorship for Joseph Adair One of Jean Adair's siblings was Joseph Adair, Jr. I descend him Joseph's son Robert who is my 4th GGF... Joseph married Sarah Dillard. I donít know if there is a connection between Sarah and your Dillard.
Spring Creek Cemetery, Jones County Texas Please remove the picture from Hildred Blanche Weeks Ham's page. It is NOT her. The picture is of Ita Rennels Nole who is buried at the same cemetery. I am Mrs. Ham's daughter and tried to remove the picture but since I did not post it, I can't. Thank you.
RE: Duckett Family Cem. and Pleasant Hill Cem., Laurens Co., SC Hi, Jody! Thanks for confirming my hypothesis. I took notes and lots of photos and will try to get Find A Grave to combine the two cemeteries. Since it's referenced in Thos. Duckett's will as Pleasant Hill, I'll ask them to use that as the primary name. You OK with that? Thanks again, Trink
Middle names of Adairs Do you have any written verification of the middle names of Thomas Benjamin Adair (1680-1755) Findagrave # 25591090, Joseph Alexander Adair Sr. (1711-1789) Findagrave # 9768725 and Joseph Alexander adair Jr. (1733-1812) Findagrave # 25541300? There are no middle names mentioned for these men in the book "Adair History and Genealogy" by James Barnett Adair and I have no record of middle names in my files. My wife is descended from these men and I would like to have written proof of middle names. Ernie Davis
Duckett Family Cem. and Pleasant Hill Cem., Laurens Co., SC Hi, Jody, Today I visited Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Laurens Co., off Barrel Stave Road, and was thrilled to find the graves of my gr-gr-gr-grandparents Thos. and Narcissa (Dillard) Duckett. However I had seen them listed on FindAGrave in the "Duckett Family Cemetery" (with only one other grave). I believe these two cemeteries are the same. I was at the courthouse yesterday and found the 1870 will of Thos., which gives metes and bounds for his "Homestead tract." It mentions "the Pleasant Hill Grave yard." Anyway, I see you've been in the area and took some of the photos, and wonder what you think? Any thoughts you could give me would be much appreciated. Best regards!
