Bio Photo Please use Suggest a correction, I dont get on here like I used too and when I do I can fix them.

People have been submitted by spreadsheets over the years. Attempts have been made to eliminate living people and duplicates. If you believe a living person is included, you should submit proof to me via findagrave correction. Just because there is no date on a headstone does not mean someone is alive.

Google and other searches do not prove someone is alive, I can google many people in my tree that google would show to be well over 100 years old that I know in fact are dead.

Yes, I know there is an edit button no kidding. I will get to it as I can. Fortunately, I do not live on this site.

While I have thousands of memorials at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester. They are all added based on the actual records in the office. In many cases these records only listed people as Mr. Ms, Miss. exc... I choose to leave these records as they are unless someone has added a headstone and the dates match the cemetery index I have in my posession.

Unfortunately I used to change them as unknown but I have learned over time people assume they are there family when in fact they are not and the dates do not match at all per the records of the cemetery.

Because of this reason it takes me some time to vent the record changes at this particular cemetery because I look each and every record up as time allows to ensure the accuracy.

RE: William Sutherland #41391023
Hello Daryl,
I noticed you entered my Great Great Grandfather at Hope Cemetery. #41391023 William Sutherland.

I wondered if you were related in any way, and also, if there was a stone for him. I did not see any photos of one. If there is a stone, can you please take a photo of it?
Thank you,
Sandy Sutherland

Gravestone Photo Permission
I am happy to see that you photographed the gravestone of Clifford Alford in Rose Cemetery (Memorial# 107942688).

I would like to add this gravestone photo to the (non-profit) Alford American Family Association's collection of New York Obituaries, where his obituary is (or will be) included. You can see the current collection at http://www.alfordassociation.org/OBITS/NYOBIT.htm.

May I have your permission to include your gravestone photos? If so, the photo caption will say:

Photo from [cemetery name, city, county, state]www.findagrave.com
Permission granted by the photographer, Daryl VerStreate

And thanks so much for your gravestone photo work!

Best regards,
Pamela Alford Thompson (Find A Grave #47195155)

Knowles/Hunt Families
Daryl,

John Knowles d. 1858
Rebecca Knowles d. 1860
Robert Knowles d. 1860
Thomas Knowles d. 1855

I dont know if you can delete RICHARD HUNT d. Aug 1885 or not. I guess I did not know how the system works but I also entered him and have photos and relationships. The same is true of WILLIAM JAMES HUNT d. 1883, my great-grandfather. I even added a photo to your listing and for some reason added him again with more info. If you want, I will delete mine so that you are shown as the creator of the listing.

I will work on more of the Hunts that are of my family. Again, I appreciate all that you have done. It is a beautiful cemetery to explore.

John Knowles Family-Transfer
Would you consider transferring the graves of the John Knowles family to me. John and Elizabeth Knowles are my 3x great grandparents. I have been working with the Friends of Mount Hope to restore the grave site as well as reset and repair the stones. I have added several photos but it is difficult to add relationships and dates. Thank you for all that you have done to support the site and many families with ancestors in Mt. Hope.

RE: Sholes
Are you agreeable to talking on the phone? We could chat off and on and send each other info if we are related. I think Sholes is an uncommon spelling so we may be. I am excited to connect!

Permission to Publish Photo
Daryl: may I reproduce your photo of the grave marker of Henry Shankwiler, with credit, on the web-biography I've written about this very interesting man? Here's a link to the page where it would be used: http://www.minerd.com/bio-gaumer,_elisabethaschanckweiler.htm. Thank you in advance for any assistance. --Mark Miner
