Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love doing Genealogy and will be more than happy to help out a fellow FAG member whenever I can.

If I have entered a memorial that is not a family member of mine and you are connected and would like to maintain the memorial, please send me the request using the suggestion option.

If I have entered a family member of mine that is also a family member of yours and you have information you would like added, please let me know as I will be more than happy to add it to the memorial.

If you believe any of the information that I have entered is incorrect please suggest a correction. I do not normally add false information, most of the information that I add has been found and documented, however we are all human and therefore there may be human errors made by mistake.

NOTE: It is a beautiful thing when someone not related to you takes the time to help a fellow member -- Many thanks to all who have and will help another in the future.

I will NOT transfer any of my family members memorials so please do request one.

I don't mind when you use my photos for your own purpose, however I do not like to see that you have taken my photo(s) and claimed it as your own.

Please make all change requests via the edit button located in the upper right hand corner of the memorial.

RE: Wm E Decker #28199756
Hi Shari,

The William E Decker I'm researching is the son of William Anderson Decker and Mandy Elvira Clark. Actually, it's his son, Carl Decker that I'm really trying to hunt down. I need to find out if he is Carl E. Decker. Unfortunately, the 1915 Kansas census that he's listed on doesn't include middle initials. William E Decker had four children when he passed in 1919 - Edna, Ethel, Clyde, and Carl. He was married to Bessie A. Frizelle. When he passed, all of the children other than Carl went to live with relatives in Missouri. Carl and his mother disappeared from public records until she married again in 1938. If William's son Carl has a middle initial "E", I will be in touch again. A friend of mine might be part of your family - sort of Long Lost Family story...

Thank you for writing,
Linda

Wm E Decker #28199756
Hi Shari,
I am helping an adopted friend search for her roots. Her birth father's name was Carl E. Decker. He was 34 in Jan. 1948, so I believe he was born in 1914. I have tracked down dozens of Carl Deckers and am currently working on one which shows up in the 1915 Kansas State Census. He was the son of William E. and Bessie Decker. William died in 1919. His children, Edna, Ethel, Clide and Carl would have been 12, 10, 8, and about 5 at the time. His wife, Bessie, would have been 27 - I am guessing she probably remarried. At any rate, you have quite a bit of family information on William E. Decker's page at Find a Grave. Are you related or know someone who is? Any clues you could give me in tracking down Bessie Decker and her children would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you,
Linda Dryansky

Re: Memorials
Shari,

Not a problem, dear. We "gravers" (lol) need to stick together. I will always have faith that this project will help us find our long lost loved ones. Contrary to what the Find a Grave "Gods" may think, this site serves a very valuable purpose to "family historians" such as myself. In fact, I cn't think of a better way to link our ancestors on this site if not in this manner.

Question for you, though: You do have quite a few "Bliss" family memorials... By any chance, are you related to the Bliss'? Might be cool to discover another cousin! :-D

Memorials...
Shari,

I came across many of your memorials while researching my Bliss ancestry and I noticed something that I thought I'd bring to your attention. I am giving this advice only because Find a Grave authorities wiped away many memorials I worked on this way and I would hate to see it happen to someone else as, just because we do not know their burial information doesn't mean they never existed. With that in mind, I advise you to show "body lost or destroyed" instead of "unknown" burial information. Typically, Find a Grave's policy is that one should add burial information within 30 days and, after that 30 days is up, any memorial is on CPR until they finally hammer all memorials created by one specific creator. Whether this happens as soon as the 30 days is up or whether it takes 3 years for them to get to it all depends on... luck, I suppose. It is my firm belief that people who submit photographs headstones they took at various cemeteries often check to see if a memorial already exists for that person (at least they should) and, when they do, they can provide the information on which cemetery the person is buried in... Good luck to you and Happy New Year!

Mary Bliss at Forest Home Cemetery
Hi! Almost no one fulfills photo requests here because the cemetery does not appreciate photographers and they will not supply them with burial plots.

But you can get the burial plot by calling the cemetery at 773-287-0772 or try e-mailing deborah.bluck@foresthomecemetery.net if you cannot talk to someone.

Since there are over 150,000 burials at the cemetery, finding someone's grave without a plot (Section and Lot Number) is nearly impossible. Ace
