My name is Rita June Collvins Mayfield. I was born February 20, 1942 in Jackson County, Oklahoma. I married Vernon Roy Mayfield on April 16, 1971. My primary hobbies are gardening, oil painting, genealogy and of course cemeteries. There is something comforting about strolling through the cemetery and reading the stones. I have recently moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, but have lived in Oklahoma most of my life. Once an Okie, always an Okie. I am slowly trying to get all my family memorialized here. My virtual cemeteries represent my family, unless otherwise noted. I am going to make them public once again, and hope I can leave them without the misuse that occurred previously.|
If I have a memorial that is anyone in your family, and is unrelated to me or my husband, I will be glad to hand it over to you as I don't adhere to the 4 generation only guideline, just contact me. I count it a joy and a job well done if I am able to pass on your loved one to you. It is my number two reason for doing this, second only to wishing to save all the old and battered stones from being lost forever. If you find errors on any of the information on my memorials, please get in touch with me with corrections. You are welcome to use my tombstone photos on your family files and family trees, just note where you got it.
Please don't post death certificates or census reports in the picture area on my memorials. They don't belong there and are detrimental to the looks of the memorial, plus it takes up room where photos could be placed.

would you do me a big favor, please, Love? Would you mind removing your photo of the framed picture from Charlie's memorial page? You may remember we talked some time back about how confusing it is that Angie was married twice, and the photo left on the dbl headstone is actually of her 2nd husband, James, not Charlie. I believe the photo is on her page, which is perfectly wonderful, but is confusing to have a picture of James Neely on the Find A Grave pg for Charlie Bowman. :) Thank you so much. I hope you are having a warm and safe winter. Tracy.

Dear Rita, Please no! I can't do another thing. Just happened on your post and I do appreciate it. Just wanted to set the record straight about William B. Denton. He was not the best character in my family tree. I never found him in the household with Martha Malinda. He was a "ramblin'" man. Yours truly, Susan Newton

Yes his headstone says Tom. I know his memorial on find a grave is still there, but I was looking at google images. but I figured out what the problem was, it was me. google images wont show the cemetery because its a dirt road.I was able to see it from a distance so it appears to still be there.
Im planning on heading out there in a couple months and hopefully speak to someone and found out if its in any danger of removal.

We spoke a while back about Wyatt and my GGrandfather J.T. Billington who is buried there. I was wondering if you have any current information about the cemetery. I was looking at google images taken in June 2013 of the cemetery and its not there. I dont see the headstone or the bench anywhere. Im hoping the image is wrong but I have never seen them be incorrect. I'm a little panicked.
