Death comes once, but a cemetery is forever
Phillip M. O'Shea

The quality, not the longevity, of one's life is what is important. --Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

Please feel free to contact me about any graves I have listed. If I have listed someone that you are related to and I am not and you would like them transferred to you, please just let me know. If we are both related then I will have to think about it. Please feel free to use any of my photo's anywhere you want.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
(rev 21:4)

"Dear Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and the date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who cares
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you."

A LIMB HAS FALLEN

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we're together again.

RE: Trickel
I have many connections back to the Trickel/Trickle clan of Green County, WI. Start with this page of my genealogy website, on which you'll find my contact info:

http://home.comcast.net/~davesmeds/martinfrontpg.htm

If you click on the link for "The Ancestry of Hannah Strader" and then, after getting to that page, search for the section on Lydia Swearingen, you will see a brief description of one of the main Trickel connections.

RE: Harriet Virginia
Sorry it took me so long to get back with you. I finally heard back from Ellen. She had to have another surgery. She doesn't not remember where she got the name from but could have been in some paperwork she was sent but no longer has. She asked me to remove the Virginia on the memorial page. I will update it in just a little while. :)

I will contact Ellen and ask her. Sometimes it takes awhile for her to get back with me. I'll let you know as soon as I hear from her.
Thank you!!

Harriet Virginia "Jennie" Dunn Hughes
I am doing Ellen's edits while she is ill. Her family tree has Mrs. Hughes listed as Harriet Isabella Virginia DUNN with ALIA: Jenny /Jennie/. So I will list the memorial page as such with the nickname Jennie. Census records list her as Jennie or Harriet.
Thank you :)

RE: Thomas B. Mitchel
You asked about the Thomas Mitchel family in Mexico. Please read the information I just added to the memorial of his wife, Clara Myers Brown Mitchel. That is all the information I can give you.

Mildred Brownell
Just an FYI on Mildred's gravestone. Her grave marker is not in very good shape. It appears that acid from leaves have leached on to her headstone over the years. I did sweep off the leaves and will add the photo I took.

Michael Tabor
Tabor Graves at Bradshaw Cemetery
Goof afternoon Barbara,
My name is Michael Tabor and I live in Indiana. I am currently working on a history of the Tabor family and would like your permission to use two of your photos of the graves of Charles Bradshaw Tabor and Minnie Bradshaw Tabor in my project. THese are in the William Bradshaw Cemetery in Russell County, VA.
I would credit you under each photo with a statement like "Courtesy of Barabara Anne [Brownell] Porter" and any other wording you prefer.
Thanks for your help.
All my best,
Michael Tabor

Isaac Griffith
It appears that we have an ancestor in common. Isaac Griffith (1800-1882) is my GGG Grandfather. I descend through his daughter, Nancy (1835-1932), who married John M. Honaker.
