Missing my son, Mark Allen Israels. II.
November 20, 1988

Losing a child is the most horrific pain one will ever feel.
The "Hillside Cemetery" in Reno was my motivation for Find A Grave. I had been a resident of Reno for 20 years before I knew of its existence. I finally found where the Hillside Cemetery was located and when I went there I was so appalled, outraged and shocked at the condition of the final resting place for many of Washoe County's finest citizens.
I started researching the cemetery online and found a survey prepared by Dolores Samuels Young and Mildred Chandler Pressell, back in 1955. Thank God, these ladies took the time to record all of the headstones that were legible at that time. Without their survey who knows how many people would have been forgotten.
I try everyday to find some little piece of information for the people buried in the Hillside Cemetery.
I try to post all information I find on a person, I believe it's sharing not stealing, especially if I take the time to research the information I find. Not everybody has the means to find the same information. I hate to think that a picture I found in a yearbook, or in a library and didn't share might have been a relative's only chance of seeing it. I'm forever grateful to others who shared pictures of my family with me. I also post obituaries especially from the 1800's. I think people like to see them. With that being said, I hope you see me as a contributor who wants to help in every way possible.
May God bless you and keep you safe in his loving arms.

Hello, your dedication is exceptional !! I couldn't help but notice that you like to post obituaries from the 1800's. I have a family member who died in Palisade, NV on April 26, 1890. His name was Thomas Humphrey and was a telegraph operator in Palisade. Is there a good source for obits from Palisade in that time period?

I tried to do this through the "Edit" button by for some reason it wouldn't work, so I resorted to leaving you a message.
|Jim Herman||Joseph Capurra|
Hi, I found Joseph listed in the old Fraternal Cemetery records. He's buried in plot 68, on the south side. The cemetery staff had his name listed a "child" Capurro. Jim

This was/is my older sister. I know at the time of her death my parents were young my mom was 16 and dad 18. It broke my moms heart to loose her child and even more so to not have a proper stone place for my sister. My mom passed away a few years ago but she always told me she wanted to go back and place a proper stone for my sister I hope one day to be able to do this for her and my sister. I'm thankful that u posted her information .

First, thank you for your reply as when I find this problem, most members don't even reply to it.
I will ask edit for a correction. Thank you for helping with the decision making. Your kindness is most appreciated.

At the Anders Hoffstedt Find A Grave entry, the note says that person offiated at burial on May 29th so I think May 28th is correct date of death as information came from his brother's family.
