If you want a memorial edited, or transferred please do it through the edit button of the memorial not here and include you Find A Grave # with your transfer requests|
Also please include your source for your information when asking me to edit.
If you see a note in the flower section of a memorial with a pink tulip from me the edit was sent over a year ago and never done so I am noting the memorial so someone else doesn't waste their time sending an additional edit.
I became instantly addicted to Genealogy and family history when, while cleaning out my mother's home years after her passing I found one piece of paper with the family tree. There were less than 2 dozen names on it. Now there are over 6,000. I also document cemeteries.
My family names in Solano County, CA are Stewart, Wentworth, Daniels and Brown mostly in the Birds Landing, Denverton, Suisun City area.
I also research Martello in Italy, LA, MS, and CA; Dunn in Ireland, NY, PA, CA and AR.
Greer's in Scotland, VA (Albemarle County) SC, TN, MO, CA
On my husband's side of the family I research Gillette's of France, England, MA, CT, PA (Susquehanna County) NY (Chenango County and Broome) and CA (Contra Costa County) as well as Schneider, Carpenter and Ingraham, mostly in the same areas.
My brick wall of late is my husband's grandfather who was in the SS in Germany during WWII he never came home from the war and the family story says he was last seen in a hospital in Italy, with a name like Friedrick Wilhelm Schneider (of Piene near Hanover, Germany) it is much like Smith or Jones here in the states, very common.

Hi! You do not need to send me a Sac when you update death dates. I always remove my note before processing drop downs. Thanks!
|S. Pisciotta||RE: Andrea Capelli|
I'm pretty sure Andrew is the Americanized name for Andrea, seems to be the same person, the attached record shows at this location there 4 people buried there (not 5) only the names of the boys are on the stone.
Frank and Andrew were both "buried" in 1912, when it was opened the 1st time, the headstone shows Andrew/Andrea actually died in 1902.
The parents chose Americanized names for the headstone, Frank and Andrew.
|S. Pisciotta||RE: Catrina Capelli|
the record confirms she is buried there, her name was not engraved on the headstone.
This is where she is buried.
If anyone ever requests a photo for her memorial they will be shooting the same headstone.
Ok, linked parents- maiden name Puccinelli then?

I'm not sure the photo of the wooden monument you took is for Francesco Mallamo. She and her husband already have a stone monument with both of their names on it, but maybe there was a wooden one first before the stone one?

Hello! I gladly make transfers to family. I just happened to make a few memorials while I was in Concord several years ago. I am glad Jane's has a home with a relative! <3
|Christie Trapp||Louis Frederick Ferrari Memorial|
Ellen: You asked me to change first name to Luigi and nickname Louis, middle name is Anthony
(you indicated that we were not at all sure where the F comes from). Born 7 Sep 1914 Collinsville, Solano, CA, died 25 Sep 1999 Fairfield, Solano CA. You asked me to link to his father Luigi Anthony Ferrari memorial 113425292 and mother Edith memorial 113425270. I have done that connection.
I did a bit of sleuthing and found no mention to any given name of Luigi for this individual. I entered two census records; one for 1920 as a child and one census as a child in his parents household in 1940. In both cases, his father was called Louis and so was he. No middle initials were ever used in the census. I didn't check the 1930 census.
I tried following up on the California birth index and his birth was not recorded; perhaps you can locate it in the Solano County Vital Record office in Fairfield. I tried a variety of spellings, including the mother's maiden name alternatives. These early births might have been recorded in books rather than having an actual certificate issued and therefore it never got reported to Sacramento. It is also possible his birth was entered as a delayed birth record and therefore, it wouldn't appear in a normal index but one created later, perhaps when he needed some proof of birth for a passport or applying for social security. A lot of delayed births were done in the 1940s, which was after social security was enacted and people were starting to apply. In his case, not so much but he could have applied then. However, it is always possible that his parents never recorded his birth at all since he might have been born at home.
The California Death Index does record his name to be Louis Frederick Ferrari, so that confirms the F for Frederick and not an A for Anthony. The only name I could come up with half way close is a
FERARI LUIGI A 1912 10 16 BUCCHIOH MALE SAN FRANCISCO.
To arrive even at this listing I just entered Fer% into the search for surname and l% for first name. The % being a wildcard.
I entered the two sisters for Louis into his Find A Grave entry that I found when searching for births by the mom's surname. There was nothing for Lagalie but I did find the two for Lagalla.
Have you searched for Louis and Edith's immigration records? Presuming they entered through NY, you might try the Ellis Island website to see what you can find. Or the INS which I think is now ICE. You also might check the Superior Court in Fairfield to see if a naturalization was recorded here in Solano county or the Federal Court in San Francisco. It is quite possible that Luigi, if that is his actual birth name, might have "Americanized" his name to Louis when he entered the US or became a citizen. The question is, did he ever get his citizenship, or did he remain an Italian citizen to the end? If he never became a citizen, you might want to check to see if he ever registered as an alien and got a green card allowing him to live and work in the US. I saw in the one census, as well as on the tombstone that Edith went by Eda. Was that her birth name in Italy and she, too, Americanized her name to be Edith?
Basically I left the entry aloneas far as Louis' name, but added Luigi as a nickname given the evidence to the contrary that Luigi is his first name. You think his middle name should be Anthony. I don't find that to be true unless you are refering to the Luigi A that is listed as being born in 1912 above and the mother's maiden name certainly doesn't match with the name you have for Edith.
Hope this helps.
