Bio and Links
Bio Photo The fourth daughter of Laurie Thackston Davis & Betty Miranda Robinson Davis. I was born and raised in Orangeburg, Orangeburg County, SC along with my three sisters. Maternal grandparents were Shellie Johnson Robinson, Sr. & Grace Edith Golson Robinson of Murph Mill Road, St. Matthews, Calhoun County, SC. Paternal Grandparents were Luther Edgar Davis & Margaret Elnora Rowell Davis of Norway, Orangeburg County, SC. Please visit our precious little grandbaby, Jordan, that the Lord saw fit to remain in heaven with Him and the angels. Jordan Hannah Perez

Married to Craig Hannah, mother of Miranda Hannah, stepmother of Alisha, Daniel (Bubba), Mark and David Hannah. Bubba, Mark and David were U. S. Marines and all proudly served this great nation of ours. On January 24, 2014, Alisha made me a grandmother with the arrival of Gabriel (G. J.) Perez, Jr. What a joyous occasion! In January 2015, Craig and I traveled to El Paso for G. J.'s first birthday. He's getting so big and absolutely the handsomest little boy around. I'm so glad God saw fit to let me stay on this Earth a little while longer to enjoy my grandson.

Colorectal Cancer Survivor here! In January 2011 my family's world was turned upside down by the news that I had colorectal cancer. My father had died from colon cancer in 1992. He had been diagnosed at 58 so my sisters and I were aware that we would need to start colonoscopies at the age of 48. Ten years from your direct line ancestor is the norm. (My daughter will need to start colonoscopies at 35.) I was 45 when I was diagnosed due to symptoms that I noticed. I had the operation to remove the rectal cancer plus a little over a foot of my colon on March 1st and I started chemotherapy on April 13th. My chemotherapy ended on October 7, 2011 after only two small setbacks. Even though my father had chemo with his cancer, you don't realize Exactly what a person goes through Daily with all the changes to your body that chemo does. God Bless my Daddy! The further along in your chemo regime, the more the chemo attacks other body functions and muscles. As my husband put it, chemo really is just fumigating for any cancer bugs that may be roaming around in your body. At least in my case that was what was happening. Fortunately, I am blessed with an outstanding husband, children and family that were with me helping me complete my chemo journey. Now almost 4 years later, I still deal with day to day issues; however, I am here and I'm getting on with life despite my 2011 journey. In 2015, I'm finally at a point that I feel pretty good which is a blessing in itself. My last scan was May 22, 2015 and they are now going to let me go 8 months before another scan. Small steps, but good steps in the correct direction! Please, please, get those colonoscopies when they are due at 50. They really aren't as bad as they used to be and you don't want to have to deal with the alternative....take it from someone who has been there!

God Bless Each And Every One Of You! ~Laurie~

Hi, Did you see I posted a few photo's from West Bethel Cemetery. I see you don't have her death year, I can check next Sunday. Her grave looks real pretty with nice fake flowers the church must put there.

I wrote a history of our little town here, and it was published in 1998. It's dedicated to Auntie, and I described her in the dedication. I still have a few for sale. Not sure you would be interested, but it does have information on her parents and siblings who wound up living here in the upstate. Since it's long out of print, I ask $25. It's hardback with 130 photos.

Thanks, Laurie. I'll check into that. I was reared in the home of Edna Inabinet Smith; my parents boarded there until I was five years old, and she was like my grandmother (although no blood kin). I wish you could have known her---she was the sweetest and dearest person. How are you related to "Auntie"? (That's what I called her because her nieces and nephews called her that.)

Thank you so very much for transferring my aunts memorial to me. My Aunt Virginia was such a sweet and loving woman and she had three children when my uncle met her and one of his requirements for dating a woman was she had to have children and I think that is because his own father left his kids and they were raised without a father in the home. I did not know until I was almost 20 that the oldest three were not my uncles biological children because they were ALL treated the same. I was shocked! It didn't change my feelings for my cousin as I loved them as much as I did the daughter they had together who was closer to my age. My aunt welcomed many into her home and when you were there you were a part of her family and she fed you and would talk for hours and she was amazing when it came to sewing and arts and crafts. I just truly admired her. I never seen her in a bad mood; she always had a smile on her face.

Thanks again!

RE: Charleston Shooting Victims
LOL ... My pleasure! I know the feeling...when Anna Ritcher taught me how to do those links...she created a monster here!

I have contacted the other people who created memorials for the nine victims. It would be nice if the links were on all memorials...yes?

They are forever linked in this tragic event anyway...I know you understand.

Hi Laurie, good to hear from you. Strange, was thinking of you the other day....Doing pretty good. Hope that you and your family are also. Yes I am ready for all of this rain to stop. Cannot get anything done outside, that is for sure.

Sure hated that our sites were removed. I had not paid for mine in the last couple of years, mainly because I had them always just take it out every year for years automatically on my credit card. It got by me without knowing they had quit doing it. It had got to where I really had no response on it so I therefore was lax with keeping up with it........So I missed out on keeping my info. Hope you were able to keep yours.....Do you by chance know if there is any way now to retrieve it. At the time I really worked hard on it and had lots that I sure hated to lose. The years are sure getting by quick now. Bill will be gone 9 years this July. I am now 77. Hard for me to believe. Was 68 when he passed. Still live in my home. Do have a lot of kin right around me...Sound like I am griping but really feel very blessed. Again great to hear from you and do write again sometime and let me know what is going on......Hugs Myrtice
