Bio and Links
Bio Photo My ancestry interests on my Dad's family are Germans: Bonorden and Knipling; on my Mom's family are Edwards and Vinson. My husbands family are Jentsch's, Kneuppers, Scheefs and Ruetters (all German families).

One of my goals is to 'connect' all the 'residents' of the Gause and surrounding cemeteries to their families buried there and elsewhere. I appreciate all the help I get from other FAG members with the connections and corrections, thank you!

** I believe that those that have gone on, deserve to be known. This isn't about 'me' but about 'them'. All pictures are given freely to anyone to use but photo credit would be polite and greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I live in Southeastern Milam County near Gause, TX. I am happy to help with any cemetery locations near me.

Burl Greer

I have deleted the duplicate memorial for Burl Greer. Thanks so much for the correction. It is obvious that the genealogical and preservation organizations in Milam County are far head of most other counties in documenting the locations of graves there. For this reason, I will be very careful to check with you or someone doing what you do in the county before I add another name.

I forwarded to your EMAIL a copy of the death certificate for my great uncle, ARTHUR DICKERSON. His burial place is listed as Rockdale, Texas. When you get the time, would you please let me know where he is buried. Because of the revelation of my great great grandmother's maiden name (sic) on Arthur Dickerson's death certificate, I was immediately able to uncover some of the secrets my family have hidden for more than 100 years; however, it helps me make sense of many things that occurred during that time and forward to this day. I appreciate YOU...

RE: Branchville, Milam County, Texas
I will have to research each one. It will take time. Know that I am not ignoring you or the edits but will do each individually as I have time.

A little FYI: almost all African-American cemeteries, especially the early ones or ones with really old names in it, will almost never match death certificate data. Another lady & I did a local one ... one most people are afraid to go into (with good reason). The cemetery originally had only 500 names listed in it. It now has 2230 and counting (they are buried 3 deep in some cases, so the oral history goes). It was rare that we ever found a marker with dates that matched the DC info. Some are off by as much as 20 YEARS! ... but we know its same person. In these cases we add what we can and try our best to give an explanation. We are now adding obits, as we find them. It doesn't always help explain dates but it does add to the pg so hopefully family will see it and maybe can help us sort it all out.

Arthur Bryant's Grave Photo
Wow!
Thank you so much for the fine photograph of Mr. Bryant's tombstone!
If you are ever in Kansas City, MO, you might want to visit Arthur Bryant's Barbecue at 1727 Brooklyn. It's world renowned and highly recommended by yours truly!
Thanks again for a job well done!

See ya'
