Bio Photo My name is Vicki, "Nana" to my grands and Ms. Vicki at where I work. I've been researching my family tree since about 1988 when my youngest son was born. I started my search in genealogy with my grandfather's mother (my great-grandmother) that no one in the family knew about. I found her and her family in West Virginia, and we have stayed in contact all these many years. I love to research genealogy, history, and just about anything that has a puzzle to it. I also love to meet and help new people in my life which a lot of people would say is very naive, but to me it's just being a Christian. I enjoy the road of solving mysteries. I love my family, God and my country and all the wonderful things out there that hasn't been really solved. I'm learning more and more about the miracles of life and the promises of the Almighty, and I'm constantly learning about every day joy and faith. I hope that I can be of help to the people here on site, even though I'm rather busy with work, and I hope that I may be able to connect the living with the dead with kindness, honor and respect. Also, I do the full obituaries so that people may find their family information for genealogical reasons. I hope that I may be of help to you. Many blessings and best wishes to all.

Thank you for the information, Vicki. I realize the difference in the cemeteries, as I am originally from that area. Thank you for editing his place of burial to the correct cemetery, too.

Her husband, Alonzo Crosswhite, was my 1st cousin, 3 times removed. Mary's death certificate says that her parents were Joseph Robertson and her mother was Mary A. Robertson. I think that Robertson is a misspelling of Robinson.

Hello. Just found your site Find A Grave Memorial# 78520750 for my aunt, Marie Varker Jordan. Thank you for posting the site. Her brother, Murray, was my Dad.

Are you by chance related? I'm always looking for members of this Varker line.

David Turckwiller's Cemetery
I believe the cemetery near the Inn is called Wilson Cemetery since it is on the Wilson Farm.

I found some Lipps buried at the Tuckwiller Cemetery west of Rich Hollow Road.
(need 4 wheel drive or truck, or take chance with car to access)

One named Henry Lipps (1815 - 1892)
with wife Catherine on same stone
Tuckwiller Cemetery (Fort Spring)

The problem is Greenbrier Historical Society calls a cemetery X, locals call it Y, the sign says Z, the deed says A, but it is the same place. So I recommend before starting a new cemetery, you do name searches filtered to Greenbrier to CROSS-CHECK.. and watch out for NAME VARIATIONS... Zicafoose, Zigafoose, Zickafoose, ya da ya da!!! Several times I went to start a new cemetery and wasted time because I did not check for names only to find it did exist on FG. Then we end up spending much time getting FG to merge cemeteries, then people have to resolve the conflicts and duplicates.
And one final important warning.. FG Cemetery Name search engine is not all that smart and so many times I cannot find the cemetery by name.
Let's say the cemetery is Old Watrous Cemetery, well typing in Watrous will NOT get you there on FG cemetery search.

David Turckwiller's Cemetery
I know of two Tuckwiller Cemeteries.

One is on the east side of Muddy Creek Mountain way out in a pasture well off the road, west of Rich Hollow Road, Fort Spring District. Impossible to see from public road. Been there and photographed all that was readable.

I do not believe this is near the Tavern of same family which I think is closer to Lewisburg.
If there is a cemetery near the tavern.. not aware of it.. but have not been in cemeteries much in Lewisburg District where the tavern I think is.

The other is on the west side of Muddy Creek Mountain way way way off WV RT 12 up near Alta, BLue Sulfur District, WV on the Tuckwiller family farm... still today owned by Tuckwillers. My last visit to do GPS and photos could not get in even with 4-wheel drive due to rains.
