Powers
Yes, Pat, I am related to James Robert Powers. His grandfather, William Holloway Powers is my great-great grandfather. That makes James my great grand uncle.

Joseph Billingsley
"The Billingsley Family in America" was written by Harry Alexander Davis and it was published in 1936. I found quite a bit of information about Joseph Billingsley and Nancy McMillan. If you'd like to send me your email address I'll scan the pages and send them to you.

There will also be information about his line of the family going forward. Does your friend need that information too? Depending on how old he is he might actually be in the book. As I said, my mother was born in 1928 and she's in it.

RE: Billingsley
I don't know why the book isn't on the shelf in its usual spot. I'll see if I can find it and I'll let you know what I find.

RE: Billingsley
For some reason I can't find the book on my bookshelf right now but I think it may have been published in the 1930s or 1940s. It's been out of print for a long time. It's several inches thick and includes a lot of lines. My mother was born in 1928 and she and her siblings are the last of my direct line to be included in the book. If you'd like, I can look to see if your line is included.

RE: Billingsley
My mother's maiden name was Margaret Joan Billingsley. My grandfather was James Floyd Billingsley. My great-grandfather was William Marshall Billingsley. I have the "Billingsley Family in America" book and it traces the Billingsley family a long way back.

You are right.

Wilbur Franklin Frank Jr
b: 21 Jun 1923, TN
d: 13 Dec 1951
Chattanooga, Hamilton, TN
buried at Greenwood Cemetery
Military Marker WWII T-5 US Army

I added his name to Find A Grave and requested a photo of the marker. Good sleuthing!

WF Kinser's wife
Hattie May is the only child of my great aunt, Sarah C "Sallie" McCamish McKeown. Hattie May and Wilbur had 8 children together and were last known to be living in Chattanooga (1940 Census) with their single daughter, Nola (occupation, knitter) Dora Ruth and WF Jr. WF died the following year at the age of 60. His occupation was listed as "truck driver." Wilbur is buried at Beta Cemetery in Meigs County. I believe Hattie May is also. It would stand to reason, unless she remarried (I haven't seen any evidence of this) I actually posted a burial for her on the Find A Grave Beta Cemetery site. I've had others look there for Hattie, but the Find A Grave volunteer could not find a marker. There are unmarked graves at Beta, also a possibility. That's all I know. I am keenly interested in anything you may find on either Sarah or her daughter, Hattie May.

RE: Hill
Hi,

I have removed one of the pictures of Abel Stanhope Hill. You should now be able to put on the family photo. If not I will remove another.

If you would like me to I will be glad to transfer him to you so you can add any information you might have. Just send me your number and I will make the transfer.

Chuck
