When time permits, I will go out and see if I can find a photo of a stone that has a photo request plus a few more. I wish I could do whole cemeteries at a time but I've done that once and that was a big job in itself.

Hello. James Troy Smith was the son of Wiley Smith (1877-1910) and Dollie Robinson Smith (1877-1951). He married Gladys Margaret Smathers (1914-2007). Gladys was the daughter of William Sidney Smathers (1868 – 1937) and Maggie Thompson Smathers (1874 – 1949). James and Maggie were living together in Beaverdam, North Carolina, on the 1940 census and had a 4 year old daughter, Geraldine. I am quite confident this isn't the James Smith you are looking for. Thanks for the picture. Ben is not related to me but I always liked seeing his marker at Stoney Fork. I remember for a few years there was a lawn chair next to the grave. I am sure a person close to him spent many hours there grieving his passing. | | | Record Hunter
