RE: Malcolm McRae/MacRae Thanks for that, Peter. I am in the process of adding the wargraves (and war-related graves) from the Outer Hebrides to this site.
I would like to add Malcolm back to the Eye cemetery listing, bearing in mind he is mentioned on a family gravestone - there are dozens of mentions like that on tombstones across the island of Lewis. However, adding Malcolm back would create a duplication in this site's records. Could you advise?
a photo request hi Peter, I see that you've taken some stone photos at the Godshill All Saints Church cemetery in Isle of Wight. I have a gr-gr-gr-gr grandfather buried there & I have had a request on F-A-Grave for a long time. [ I just reposted my request] I wonder if I could ask you directly if you would be kind enough to try to locate & photograph his grave site [ and any other Hughes round about]? I would be very grateful. His name is JOHN HUGHES... b 1800- 1886. I look forward to hearing from you.
Russell Cummings Thanks very much for the transfer of my cousin Russell Cummings to me. I'm going to add a note to his biography linking him to his brothers and grandparents. I hope someday to find the burial location of his parents, Lola (nee Sherly) and William Milton Cummings (1875-1955). Thanks for creating this memorial and for all your contributions to Find A Grave. Without your time and efforts, people like me would never find their "lost relatives!"
Bowhanan/Buchanan Thanks for Poldore and Ann - found out something interesting yesterday... George Buchanan is the only Buchanan ancestor that changed the spelling of the name to a more phonetic way - seems it was pronounced Bowhanan instead of Buchanan. We checked Find A Grave and the only entries for Bowhanan are him and his children! Thanks again! Have a fantastic New Year! Cheers mate
