I have enjoyed doing finding a grave.
I love going to the cemeteries and helping others find tidbits of info that might be missing from their family tree. Sometimes all the info might not be available.

|William Hollis||RE: Hollises Buried At Lawler Cemetery Dora AL|
Hi Patricia and thanks for getting back to me.
I am looking to make contact with any surviving descendants of Elijah V. Hollis and Susannah as I am fairly certain that I am a descendant as well.
A quick look in the phonebook shows a few Hollises still in DORA but would like to know how I can reach out to them or even if they are the same line. Probably are but would like to reach then through a friend or acquaintance rather than calling them out of the blue.
Any help you can provide is appreciated.
I live just over in GA and plan to do some research at the Archives in Montgomery and the Jefferson library in the coming months so I have no issues traveling.
William "Bud" Hollis

Can you please contact me about this Hollis family? I believe they may be my ancestors and since you live in the area I thought you might be able to help me get in contact with other descendants still living in the area. You can send me your email from the private message portal in F.A.G. or here.
|Amber Gullo||Wilbert Family Tree|
Hello, I am trying to build my family tree which lead me to this website which is where I obviously lead me to you. I dont know if I am on the right path because there are so many Wilberts but I have got to Edward and Annie Lou Burch Wilbert. Ancestry says that their parents are from Germany. Do you have ANY information about them? I appreciate your time and help. Thanks!

Oh ok. I didn't realize you had already spoken to him. Are you our neighbor? If you find out anything, please let me know. Thanks!

My family and I just moved to a new house 7 months ago and have 8 1/2 acres of land in Dora, AL. There's an old grave marker on our land up by an old shop that has the name Kelley Easter on it. The DOB is Oct. 21, 1888 and DOD is Feb. 16, 1948. I was researching and found this post. It has to be the same person. I see that you posted a picture of a grave in a cemetery close by. I was wondering if you could give me some information about this person and if you know if she is in fact buried here or at the cemetery. Just curious...thank you!
|Maggie Holley||Great Grandparents Holley|
I see you have posted grave markings for a J H Holley and M E Holley. I am wondering if they are my great grandparents. I had the years that they were born and died. They are the same as your info but I'm not sure about the name on the head stones. My great grand parents names were Richard John Pickney Holley and Elvira Rice Lowery Holley. My grandfather had another name but I don't know it. I was told by another family member but she refuses to help me with my family tree. My grandparents were John Luther Holley and Niece Beatrice Hagood. My father was Thomas Carvin Holley. Thank you for your time.

I suggested the name change to Robbins because all of the information I found indicates that this was the actual family name. Their surviving son Clifford (James Clifford) has if spelled "Robbins" on his tombstone. The Alabama Death Records also spelled Wm. and Molly's names as "Robbins" and their surname was spelled that way on the 1920 census. My educated guess is that the tombstones were all donated by someone after the fact and the names were misspelled. Since the surviving family members really didn't have enough money to change it, they just left it spelled "Robins." You can leave them "Robins" if you would prefer.
My grandparents were William T. Brasfield and Katie Love. by any chance are you related???

My Great Grandfather is Andrew M. Campbell. He is buried in Union Missionary Baptist Cemetery in Jefferson County Alabama. I'm trying to find out if he is buried next to either of his wives. Nellie was his first wife, who died when my Grandmother was young. I cannot find very much information on my Great Grandmother. His second wife was Fannie (Ricketts) Cambell. If you are near this cemetery and return to it, can you see if either of them are buried next to him?
