Hi, I am Billy .......|
(Last updated 16 Dec 2012)
Due to my Dad's death, I have taken over my dad's work on the Womble Family Tree. The Family tree goes back to the 1600's when the Wombles(Wombwell) came over from England to Virginia.((( Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Thomas Wombwell who settled in Virginia in 1648 ))) Sometime in the early 1700's the Wombles move to Edgecombe County, NC.
Edgecombe became a County 1741
Nash become a County 1771
Wilson become a County 1855
These are the 3 main Counties for the Womble
(The early years) ....
John Womble b.1756/d.1821
OFF of John William Womble b.1837/d.1904:
There are very few "Womble" (name Womble) left in Edgecombe County from the blood line. There is a lot of, next to kin, still there farming the home stead.
The Family Tree is not just of the Womble but it goes in all direction. You can follow the links I made on Fine A Grave. My dad did not take pictures of any headstones. SO, since I am out there anyway, why not take pictures of other headstones.
The County I will be going to is Harnett, Johnston, Wilson, Nash and Edgecombe, all in NC.
These are the main Counties.
I made this line for family members who would like to trace their family ancestry.
I prefer you to send me information on Find A Grave Memorial. Once I know there is an interest on that person, I will add the information and add some other information that I can find and sometimes I will start a family member search.(Trace their family tree) I love doing this and I do this for free.
Please do not ask for a Transfer just to own it.
Please add or contact me if you have family photos .......

|Robin Womble Autry||your dad & a bible|
Your dad sent me a bunch of info 12 years or so ago and in there he noted info on the following family from the bible of Mattie Abrams Water. I was wondering if you had copies of the bible. I am applying to DAR. Thank you. Robin Womble Autry
Seeking proof of Nathaniel Green Womble (1802-1876) & Martha Frier's birth/death dates (1808-1856) as well as proof they had a son Isaac Womble (1841-1903). We have census, mc and all info on ancestry but DAR is seeking proof that Isaac is there son.
|Rachel Shaw||Cissero Womble|
I am working on the Womble lineage for a lady that would like to join DAR. Do you have a picture of Cissero's grave marker that is readable? I need both his birth and death dates. Thank you for your consideration and time to reply. Rachel Shaw firstname.lastname@example.org
I see you have taken some pictures of the Peacock Family Cemetery. Would you mind sharing the location of this one? I have researched at least three in Johnston County, NC.
I plan to make a trip there in the next two days if I have your information. If not by then, please send the info regarding the location anyway.

Mary Lee Womble was my grandmother. I noticed some information about her husband, my grandfather. I have more information to share. Are you Tommy Womble's son? Is there a way to contact you privately? Thanks!

Although I live in Kentucky, my grandfather was born in Edgecombe County. I'm researching some history on his family. I'm looking for Maretta Scott or any other Womble's that may be related. Please feel free to email me email@example.com.
Thank you for the updates to this site.
|Anonymous||Cemetery for John Bridgers|
John (Jonathan) Bridgers was buried in the Bridgers Cemetery in Tarboro, Edgecombe County, NC. It is listed in the Find A Grave Memorial # 37769910. His wife Catherine is buried in the same cemetery. There are pictures of both footstones
|Art Carawan||Sallie Creech Grice|
Greetings Mr. Womble and thank you for all the great work here! I am writing today because I have been doing a little work on the Grice family and the curiosity that those buried in the Grice graveyard in Wilson County seem to be unrelated on the surface, and I came a cross a curiosity where Sallie is concerned.
I cannot exactly prove the parentage of Sallie Creech. Her death certificate reveals her parents as Jerome and Sallie Creech. Although I have never seen Frances Batten ever referred to as "Sallie" elsewhere, I can only find one Jerome Creech in any census. Also, in the 1900 census, Frances Creech is listed as having had 10 children, with 7 living, but only 6 are listed with the family. Since she and Jerome married in 1878 and Sallie Creech was born in Mar 1880 (the 1900 census states April), it makes sense that she would be the missing child, particularly since she had married Dave Grice only a month before the census data was taken.
Moreover it is telling that Sallie is buried in the Holland Cemetery where her hypothetical parents are. David Berry Grice is buried WAY over in Wilson County, at Mount Zion Church.
I continue to work on these Grices, their movements make them quite hard to track, but thought I would share.
Cheers from Washington NC.
