My maternal grandfather bequeathed me his family book in 1968, and ancestor hunting became an addiction. Although I've been doing this a long time, actual cemetery walking is a new aspect.|
The main surnames being followed are: Cronin, Grove, Wade, Stolworthy, Schmitt, Walker, Holden, Groom, Stewart, not necessarily in that order, and those branch into hundreds of others.
The strong New England heritage comes west through Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona to California, while adding emigrants from Ireland, Germany, Scotland, etc. From witches to gold miners, blacksmiths to carpenters, it is probably all in there.
I will transfer Memorials IF you use the EDIT button. I will NOT respond to lists.

Thank you for the William Chandler marriage update.
|LSP||RE: Mary McKee|
Hi, I emailed you a reply and am excited to hear about it. Looking over the bible records in George Wilson McKee's book, I don't see the second Mary yet. Crossing my fingers.

|Vicki Hittson||RE: Hittson surname|
I don't find another branch of the Hitt family that changed to Hittson, other than my own. My documentation is authentic and well-researched and it has taken years to understand that this may have been where my name came from. It is very typical that names changed to add "son" in Great Britain and Northern Europe. I have personal DNA records to authenticate and establish it. When my son's DNA is completed, I will present my information to the Germanna Foundation.
Can you tell me why so many of the Hitt cousins are trying to prove me wrong lately?

I added the name of John's older sister, Nancy McKee, 1792-1864 and finished his bio and that of his spouse. I am not related to this family in any way and do these bio's hoping that a relative or descendant will materialize or someone that would care for them until a descendant is found. I am hoping that you will care for him and his spouse until that time arrives.

a little more info - from Ancestry today. Earl davis was born april 3 1906 in la Plata county Colorado . He died 1984 in Brush Colorado. His wife was "Helen" who was born 1910 in New mexico. They married about 1927, probably in New mexico since they do not have a Colorado marriage certificate. In 1925 he was in Kansas, but they were both back in la Plata county by 1930. They seem to have had only one child , Albert, born 1928.

I found her real name on a family tree on Ancestry. Albert was born Ohio 1866 and Nevada in Nevada 1863. Her father James Davenport died in Cortez Colorado 1896 and her mother in Mancos Colorado 1883. She and Albert married in Colorado in 1893 (not sure where) and all her children were born here. They had at least 5 children - Earl being born in 1910. Several (can't tell how many) of their children are buried with them in Hermosa. They were general farmers in Rockwood, which is just north of Hermosa. Albert was active in politics and a member of Woodsmen of the world. He also played in the Silverton Colorado band. There is a Davenport family still in the Mancos area - don't know if they are related or not, but suspect they are.

|Squirrel||Abigail (Adams) Baxter|
I came across your sentence, "Abigail Baxter and Gregory Baxter were children of John Boxter or Baxter." in the flowers/notes part of Abigail's memorial. I would like to let you know that I have Abigail in my tree, too. Your sentence above is not correct. Her parents are Gregory Baxter and Margaret [surname unknown]. Gregory immigrated to Massachusetts on the Lyon ship between 1630-1632. In late 1632, he married Margaret (her surname is rumored to be Paddy, but there's no proof). I have records saved to Gregory, Margaret, and Abigail. If you wish to see them, let me know at mnich5 at aol.com In the meantime, you may want to delete your comments at Abigail's memorial.

In the bio I do have the information that the baby is the son of Charles, but I will change the name to Son of Charles in the name. You are right, too many babies without names.
