I am from the Northern Neck of Virginia, and most of my relatives are here. I especially like to honor our soldiers of the past and present, and having memorials for them is one way we can be sure they will not be forgotten. I would like to see every grave yard listed, with the folks buried there, and kept for future generations, whether at a church or home, or elsewhere. A big THANK YOU .. to all the folks out there who have sent me info.. and photos of my relatives. I hope, I have helped people in return. I will transfer memorials, especially to family members. Also I have listed memorials and photos for Gibeon Baptist Church Cemetery, and Totuskey Baptist Church Cemetery, both in Richmond County, Va., and some at Carmel United Methodist Church, Kinsale, Westmoreland County, Va. You may add any photos you wish to my memorials, I do not mind. As you have probably already noticed, I have memorials for mostly Northern Neck people, and their connections.

RE: Alice Jordan
I did have it after all, just didn't realize it. But I will double check if/when I go back.

I don't know why I didn't take the full headstone. Let me know if you would like for me to add that one as well. I will be going back to the cemetery for the last few people on the list.

I want to say thanks for giving me all this information about my family tree but how did you get all of it. You have pictures of my great great great grandfather. Harvey Joseph Moone is my great grandfather. Thanks.

RE: Mr. Dameron
I was told that there is no cemetery for the church. It is only the community cemetery. It does make it confusing since it is adjoining the church property, and you have to park in the church parking area.

RE: Davis ancestry
Thanks for letting me know. There is a Chancery Suit on William Settles at the Virginia Archives in Richmond that was unsealed in 2007. I had limited time one day to read through it while in Richmond, and couldn't reach any conclusions. If I ever find anything out about Alfred I'll send you a note. Take care.

Lawrence Davis
Davis ancestry
Evab41: my name is Lawrence Harlan (Dan) Davis Jr, I am the son of Lawrence Harlan Davis, grandson of Lawrence Hall Davis, great grandson of John Ervin Davis, and great-great grandson of Dandridge D Davis. By my records, Dandridge (1842) and your ancestor Alexander (1844) were siblings; they had two sisters Susanna (1846) and Sarah C (1849).

Their parents were Alfred and Sallie B Self. We have hit a dead end looking for Alfred's lineage. I have a good bit of background on Sallie B. Self's ancestors. There are written accounts of a "William Settle" who may have been Alfred's father. We also find mention of Thomas S and Eliza Davis (Eliza daughter of Elizabeth Davis), but nothing is confirmed.

Have you by chance any information on Alfred? Thanks, Lawrence "Dan" Davis, living in Newnan, Georgia.

Hoping by chance that you might have additional information about Alfred's lineage?

RE: Family
thanks for the quick reply
I am looking for a couple of cemeteries that don't seem to exist-
Chatham Village in Westmoreland County, Virginia
I believe our immigrated McCrea is buried there but I can't seem to find the actual cemetery-it may be a family plot somewhere or has been renamed.
The names are John Walter McCrea 1823-1889
and Susan Matilda White/McCrea 1827-1903
and Margaret Flick or Flew/McCrea 1871-1907
any help would be greatly appreciated
I don't know how far some of these towns are to you but the info I have is they lived on a farm in Cople, Westmoreland County named Bayside.
Any links that you have to databases for Westmoreland would be great
thank you in advance

ps-I haven't claimed any memorials yet and don't know all the ins and outs of the site yet but am finding it very useful-
would be willing to do personal emails with more sensitive material

Herbert Family
Have found many of your links valuable. I am researching the McCrea family in Westmoreland County, Virginia. They are connected to the Herbert family. I am trying to contact real people in the area to aid in finding some missing relatives. Would love to get touch with you.
