Despite what some of you may think, I do not intentionally "plaster misinformation" all over the memorials. I have researched most of the memorials I have submitted, trying to make sure the information is correct, looking for obituaries, census records, birth and death records. Sometimes I get it wrong, but I don't think that's very often. If you don't want information posted, don't send it to me. I have taken up posting the contributor number of those sending changes through email. If you don't want your number listed, don't send the change.
- When I started contributing to Find A Grave the following was listed under FAQs:
What are your naming conventions?
Unless the legal name contains a hyphen, punctuation, including the () and /, should not be included in the memorial name. Full capitalization (ALL-CAPS) of names should not be used, whether it be surname or the full name.
- I see that they have changed their FAQs to the following:
What are your naming conventions?
Unless the legal name contains a hyphen, punctuation, including the () and /, should not be included in the memorial name. Periods are to be used after initials, as in normal English. Full capitalization (ALL-CAPS) of names should not be used, whether it be surname or the full name. Suffixes and Prefixes do not belong in any name field.
- I am adhering to what was the convention on Find A Grave when I first checked FAQs. Rather than change over 18,000 memorials, I will stick with the original rule.
I have received nasty messages from some who disagree with my choice of staying with the original convention. If you supply a middle name, this will solve your problem.

Jonathan Martin Cost is the father of Sgt. William Flavius Cost.
I have researched his history in depth. I have written a story about William and his friend, Benjamin G. Hill. They both served together in the "11th New York Cavalry".
Sgt. William Flavius Cost stayed in Washington, DC and guarded Pres. Lincoln during the civil war.

Are you related to the Bevard's in some way?
My Great Aunt on my Mothers side married a Bevard.
Love hearing from you.

Please transfer this one to me as it is my father. I uploaded the photos years ago to another site and everyone copied it. That photo is my original.
Audrey, I have made a mistake in the info I sent to you about Mary. I said her father was Thomas and that was her grandfather. Her mother was right. Will you please make the correction. Her father was William A. ( 1771 -1867) the son of Thomas & P. (Ayloffe) Aliff. Her mother Sophia Edwards ( died before 1830) and her mother was Nancy. So sorry for the mistake.

May I have permission to use your photos of Samuel H. DeVaughn's headstone and obituary in his profile on WikiTree? (It's located here: http://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=DeVaughn-77&public=1) He is my great-grandfather.

Hi Audrey, would you please transfer my maternal grandparents graves, Clinton Lewis Taylor (# 43993060) and Caroline Turk Conaughty Taylor (# 43993101) to me? Thanks for entering them. I visited them in May and have decided to bury their daughter, my mom, there.

Thank you for taking photos of John Rogers, Hans Rinker, and Maria Rinker's headstones! I appreciate the work you're doing for FindAGrave.com and for my family. Could I please use your photos, giving you full credit for taking them, in my family records? Thank you for your time and consideration.
|Becky Roberts||Thank you!|
So appreciate the photos and the extra info - am working on the Herbert/Adams line in Maryland (particularly St. Mary's County) and your efforts have helped so much. Thank you.
Thank you for the heads up. Fixed now.
