Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an art historian living in Gettysburg and have always loved visiting cemeteries. My aunt gave me a book of our family's genealogy in 2007 and I've had so much fun gathering more information and researching the other side of my family. I'm excited to help out when I can by taking photos in Adams and Franklin Counties PA and Frederick, Carroll and Washington Counties MD. I have appreciated so much, those who have helped me out with information and photos. I am familiar with most of the communities inwhich I photograph having lived, worked or having relatives in these places so if you have general questions about the area, I'd be happy to help if you are planning to travel to or visit any of them. I would happily transfer your relatives to you if you'd like or I'd be happy to add more information for you.

I see that you requested pictures of Sewall graves. I know the area but will need to wait for sunny weather. Too much snow! I did make it out to Bethany Cemetery. Didn't know if you would like Oliver Burdette's grave photo. He was the son in law of the Sewalls. My email address if your interested is

I was hoping you would know the location of the cemetery so I could visit there. Do you know if this is a family cemetery? I tried a map of Wilmington but no mention of the cemetery. Thanks.

Hi Amy,
I just wanted to thank you for putting up a photograph of my Great Uncle Ward's grave stone.
Somehow, I managed to miss it when I was in Evergreen Cemetery there in June.
My mother and I both appreciate it.

RE: Sewall Cemetery, Mercer County PA
Hi, Amy, Yes I am related but not as close as you. Originally from death certificates was how I learned about Sewall Cemetery. It was not on Find A Grave so I started asking around as I made contacts with other cemeteries. I finally found a mention of it on a genealogy website listing Mercer County cemeteries. I met my Sewall cousin when corresponding with the Mercer County Historical Society. He was the historian at the time. He is now in a nursing home and no longer active. Jim Sewall is a son of Lewis Fremont Sewall and Mary Elizabeth Kerr. This gets complicated but Mary's is a cousin through her grandmother Elizabeth McIlvaine that married John Kerr. My 2g-grandmother is her sister. Margaret McIlvaine and Robert Clark lived in Mercer from 1843-1865 which is why I started researching. Turns out I have a lot of relatives in county. And then there is Mary Anne Cook another cousin through the Terrill's and Sewall's. She sent me Terrill family sheets years ago. In putting together our relationship to each other and to Jim Sewall I ended up with a log of Sewall information from her. Anyway please email:

Bethel Cemetery off Good Intent
Can you help me out? We are trying to find out the name of the Church that once sat on this property where the cemetery is located. We are struggling with title issues to properties contiguous to the Cemetery and looking to see which church and who was the last pastor associated for it.

No, I'm not a relative and would be happy to transfer the memorial. Please go to the memorial and use the edit button to give me your Find A Grave #. Barb
