Dear Ancestor

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
In this field of green.
The name and date are chiseled out
For all the world to see.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist,
You died long before I was born.

Yet we are of one, you and I,
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the life you lived
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Thanks so much for the reply, like so many who don't have a marker. I have placed markers on my ancestors' graves in Claiborne Parish, La. just their name and dates but at lease someone else looking for them will at least find their stone.
Thanks again.

John W Jordan, Mem. No. 89908567
Sorry but there was an error in my prior message. JOHN W. JORDAN, per the photo of his tombstone, was the "son of W.Z.-P. JORDAN" as is similarly inscribed on his infant sibling S. E. JORDAN's tombstone. W.Z. Jordan was known as ZACK W. JORDAN.

John W Jordan, Mem. No. 89908567
I have left Flowers for JOHN W. JORDAN who was the "son of E. Z.-P. Jordon" who are found as ZACK W. JORDAN, Mem. No. 125605626, and PERCILLER JORDAN (1851 - 1889), Mem. No. 125605353, along with 2 other infant siblings, MARY JORDAN, Mem. No. 125605497, and S. E. JORDAN (1882 - 1886), Mem. No. 125605259. Can you link JOHN W. JORDAN with his parents? I discovered this connection while looking for another John W. Jordan. Thank you.

Greetings! This cemetery does not give out grave locations to photographers, citing privacy reasons. Please call (419) 536-8321 to get the exact location, as there are thousands of burials at Ottawa Hills. Thanks!
