Additional information and corrections are very welcome. Feel free to use my headstone photos too.|
If anyone wants to take over the management of their family's memorial from me, just ask; don't be shy. As long as you're related to the deceased, that's good enough for me. Please remember to include your Find A Grave ID number when requesting the transfer.
Please do not post complete obituaries on my memorials (too many problems with people's privacy and copyright infringement). Paraphrasing the main points from an obituary is great, and I'm happy to add that if you forward it to me using the Edit tab.
From the Amador Ledger (Calif.), November 2, 1900:
THE TRANSLATION. On the gate of the cemetery in Rio de Janeiro is a notice in Spanish, French, and English that no dogs are admitted unless led by the owner. This is how the announcement is made in English: "Noble mesdames and gentlemen who may desire a dog to follow in this tombsyard will be permission unless him drawn by a cable round him throttle."

I believe you are right about the little bird in my picture being a mockingbird. Thanks for your kind comment about the picture. Regarding turkeys, there are dozens of them roaming through Sierra Hills Memorial Park, especially late in the day, making their way through the headstones, slowing and methodically picking at the grasses and whatever else is there.

The name is William Eugene "Willie" Atkins. You left him some flowers on Find A Grave.

John has a puzzling mix of names on various items including his tombstone and various internet sources like the CA Death Index. I noticed the additional name under "Father" on rootsweb as being Scalaiser. I can find nothing on that name. I added John Donald Marsiglia (St. Mary's Cemetery) awhile back; his mother's maiden name was also Arguello. The is also a Bill Marsiglia (1919-1997) born in CA and died in San Diego with mother's maiden name of Arguello on the CA Death Index. I think all these fellows may have been brothers, perhaps by different fathers - not sure.

Are you related to William Atkins? He is my great uncle and I'm trying to find additional information.

yes but I was trying to get all her names on the memorial. If you chose not to update it. I am fine with that.

Thanks, my email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you happen to know the antique store name? I have cousins
that live in Roseville Ca. I moved to Arizona a few years ago health reasons. My family history is in Placer County, Roseville, Colfax. I am building my family tree in Ancestry.
