I was born and reared in the Pittsboro, Middle Twp. area and still am residing here. I have a great family for which I am proud to be a part of. Have searched many years for my ancestors, my husband's and many extended family members and their history.|
When I find a picture or am given a picture to place with a name, it's like getting a piece of a gold mine, so to speak.
I like to add my ancestors and connected ancestors to Find A Grave, so they won't be forgotten. And too, I hope that some of my younger family members will get the urge to further search, and break down some of my "brick walls". This will give them a beginning searching tool. This is why I like to add family members and etc to my memorials, instead of just posting the birth and death dates, which too are very important.
I thank and appreciate Find A Grave, for letting me do so. Also appreciate all the pictures placed on my memorials, the leads given and the links to family members. Last, but not least, I appreciate and give thanks to all those wonderful people who have restored stones and cemeteries.
So in closing, I do thank all that have aided me in my search.

I added more photo's to Francis. I found the 1st one under a bush then I floured it, it says she was born in N Carolina. I have found that when stones get old a lot of people either lists them on family stone or add a new one, and they usually leave the old stone where it is.

Wow! we are making progress. Stella McCloud Wilson (no relation) was dtr. of Sarah, and she made the request from Veterans Dept. mentioning burial, date of death, Barnard Cemetery, etc.
Yes, I am the same James Keith Wilson, named after my ggrandfather Alex K. Dickerson. My mother wanted to name me Alexander. His parents in Lebanon were teachers, farmers. His father was pioneer farmer, etc. All have good headstones.
I am very grateful for this contact, and for your assistance. I have war muster records, and more for Alex, and it is a shame for an unmarked grave for him after four years in civil war. He answered Lincoln's call to arms, April 1861 and served until Apr 1865! In 10th, 40th, and then in Union Army Mississippi Marines. Sarah had three children when they married in 1895. I have marriage cert. They had three dtrs. Eliz. had three dtrs. Uncle George McCloud is buried in Putnam county, and was friends with Eliz. half-brother. Again, most grateful to you. Jim

Hi Louizana. I am the gr grandson of Sarah , and noticed your virtual grave in Find a Grave. I have more information on her, including her DOD as Aug. 15, 1933 in Roachdale, Indiana.
She is reported to be buried in Barnard Cemetery,, Barnard, IN. And, here is the problem. No gravemarket to be found! Also, her husband, a Civil War veteran of four years, also not marked. I sent a letter to the church across the street to as for assistance in looking at headstones, or better for records. Google Earth shows the cemetery.
I live in Naples, Florida, making it difficult to travel for this effort. Her daughter requested $29 to pay the doctor, and she paid $50 for burial. Can you help, or point me in any direction ? Sincerely,
|Pat Kiser||RE: Frances Lamb|

Well, thank you for the information, I however found the same information and ran with it through the internet, the Capt. John Jacob Hunter is correct to my knowledge for now,I am accepting it for now, until I get further info that it is not.
thank you for getting back to me; i just looked at the write-up that was done, some of us oldies (yes, that's right)seemed to need things simplified, and it does show a Sarah Ann(?)Hill born in 1703-1755.
So thank you again for confirming for me this information.
If there is anything I could do for you please let me know.
my email acct. is firstname.lastname@example.org, just send it this way, if you can.

i am searching for the parents of elizabeth hunter, can you help me, i hope you can; it's just a small tid bit of information I need to fill in the rest of the profile.
Yes it was kind of Mr. Holly to make several trips to take the photos, wish I could visit that cemetery. Hopefully when my hubby retires We will get the chance to visit.
Mr. Holly mentioned he would try to get help lifting it at one point, but it really would take quite a lot of man power. So let me know when you get a chance to check it out.
