|Dee||Lewis Kugler, Mary Kugler, Carrie Kugler Memorials|
I wondered if you would consider making a change to these three memorials: 157273271, 157273311 and 157273357.
Carrie B. Kugler (1885-1972) is Lewis S. Kugler's second wife, not the child of Lewis and Mary.
I was working on some Kugler people today and have submitted some other edits.

That's good. I'll be sending more. I'm only about half done with my database and I need to go to Washington County Library for obits. I figure I have all winter :)

I was browsing ebay and saw that there is a fraktur for sale related to your family. It might help your research even if you do not wish to purchae it.

Hi Mike - I noticed you have Robert Taylor Sheaffer (#32006629) and am wondering if you have come across his brother, Lemuel Osler Sheaffer (1902-1946), and wife, Elsie Margaret Dunham Sheaffer (1907-1976). They are both buried in White Marsh. I would appreciate any help you could give me and would love if someone could take photos of their stones. Thank You!

Do you know who all is buried on Swede's Delight in Williamsport MD? I am an ancestor of the Friend family through Israel Friend's daughter Catherine, and am trying to find more info on them. Thanks so much!
|Nancy Shrader||RE: Elizabeth Eyler Harbaugh|
My previous info was indeed incorrect. There were about 4 or 5 Elizabeth Eyler's living at the same time in close proximity to one another. After a great deal of checking & comparing records, I feel fairly certain that Elizabeth Eyler Harbaugh 1814-1895 parents were Jacob Eyler & Elizabeth Fohl. I am certain that she had 3 sisters: Sarah A. Eyler born 1820, Louisa Eyler 6/5/1816-3/19/1903, & Catherine 1809-5/2/1894. Both Sarah & Louisa are listed as surviving siblings in Elizabeth's obits. Let me know if this looks reasonable to you as well. I would like to get the find-a-grave info updated for Elizabeth Eyler Harbaugh to include her parentage & siblings.
|Valarie Vine||George Harbaugh (1747- )|
Since George Harbaugh (1747 -) had not been added (to findagrave), I added a memorial and the information I just sent to you. I do not have his date of death or where he was buried. Connected him to his wife Elizabeth. Happy to transfer to you if you want to maintain the memorial and perhaps do further research.
|Valarie Vine||George Harbaugh (1747- ? )|
The eldest son of George Harbaugh, he was also known as John George Harbaugh (born 8/11/1747-date unknown of death). He married Elizabeth Binchele (or Binkele). her dates: 12/19/1749-1/23/1780.
Information from "Harbaugh History" (Page 148)as follows:
*All these data from the Graceham Church records in the York Hist. Society from which we quote the following verbatim -
John George, eldest son of George and Catherine (Williar) Harbaugh married first Nov. 27, 1770, Elizabeth Benkele. He body was brought through the deep snow on a sled to the church for burial.
There were 5 children listed born to this couple (George Jr. 1771- ); Jacob (1773-1850); Elizabeth 1775-1855; John (1778-1854); and Infant daughter (1/10/1780-1/10/1780). Elizabeth buried her infant daughter in the garden the same day herself. Elizabeth died 13 days after her infant daughter.
Additional note about George Harbaugh (1747- ) ----"He lived for some time on the old homestead. Afterwards he removed to Bedford Co., PA and on one occasion, coming to the Valley on a visit, he took sick and died on his way home."
He had a second wife Marie Barbara by whom he had five children. If you want these names, let me know.
|Valarie Vine||George Harbaugh (1726-1787)|
My only reference is the "Harbaugh History" - Page 148 only references his wife Catharina Williard (Bender) whom he married in 1746 at which time he was 20 years old.
|Valarie Vine||Yost Harbaugh (ancestry)|
Hope all is well with you!
Re: your question about where the immigrant Yost Harbaugh came from in Europe. Page 400 of the "Harbaugh History" states: "In his 1856 Annals Rev. Henry Harbaugh thought that his ancestor came to America in 1736 from Switzerland. There is a record in the York Historical Society showing he was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany. We had reported to us from Kansas that Yost went to Switzerland about 1720 and from there to Philadelphia. We have never located an immigration record , nor the name of his father."
I believe Yost came from Germany and that the Switzerland connection continues to pop up because of the Rev. Henry Harbaugh book. I noticed a plaque added to Yost Harbaugh's memorial referencing Switzerland (the plaque was placed there in 1930).
