New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013

Go to your Contributor/Profile page. Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits." Check there to see if any recommendations that have been submitted to you. Review the suggestion and accept it. If you cannot confirm the information then you have the option to decline the suggestion.

This is more accurate for doing updates to names/dates/places/plot numbers/links. If the manager hasn't reviewed the suggestion within 21 days the program will automatically accept the information.

~A Poem for our Ancestors~
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

RE: Merrill Moser
I would prefer the transcribed version which I could add to the bio. I will add a note to it that also gives the marriage record version of his nativity. Perhaps the truth is somewhere in between. Thank you for your response.

Merrill Moser
Merrill Moser's wedding record states he was born in Osterdock. Do you have a birth certificate for him that shows differently?

Thanks for the obit - I just added it.

I had found one in the Dubuque paper, but yours is more complete and spells his surname correctly.

RE: Mary Ann Meier
So sorry, her memorial is 47386593. Wife of John Meiers St Helen NE. The photo of both MaryAnn and John was my Grandmother's photo that I have inherited. I would really appreciate if I could take the memorial over if they are not your family, if you would be willing....thank you for your quick response. Thank you Fran White

RE: Wilma Millar Corwin Scott
Thanks Jane for all the photos and info that you have posted. Jeanjunkie is a great name. I thought Jean might be a take on "gene"-clever.
I am also on Ancestry with the name "Mary Schaede" Potvin-German family trees. With regards to Miller/Millar spelling I have also seen it spelled both ways. A Great uncle Jack German had researched (1930's) The German Family back to the days of the United Empire Loyalists. They were families who had fled America during/after the American Revolution and who had remained loyal to Britain. Christopher "Christophe" German was a Loyalist and his daughter Maria/ Mariah (1810-1897) married Harvey Millar (1808-1898) in Napanee, Ontario in 1832. They had 3 boys and 3 girls- Jane Letitia Millar (1851-1930) was their youngest child. She married Stephen Willard Scott.
In 1863, Harvey and Mariah moved to Grass Lake, Michigan. They raised the family in Michigan so that places the children back in the U.S. The family's name has been recorded as both Millar and Miller. I use the Millar spelling because that's what our family has documented.
Best wishes
