I live in Los Angeles, CA.|
I will transfer NON-family memorials according to Find-A-Grave rules.
I will be more than happy to update memorials.
New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013
Go to your Contributor/Profile page. Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits." Check there to see if any recommendations that have been submitted to you. Review the suggestion and accept it. If you cannot confirm the information then you have the option to decline the suggestion.
This is more accurate for doing updates to names/dates/places/plot numbers/links. If the manager hasn't reviewed the suggestion within 21 days the program will automatically accept the information.

~A Poem for our Ancestors~
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

I'm very glad to help!
When I first started my photo volunteering, some requestor suggested that I place a flower to mark the burial spot ... I thought that was a grand idea. I'd guess about 10% of the photos I take are similar to Mary's.

I am so sorry it's taken me so long, but I just uploaded the photograph to John Heiss as well.

Please know that I only sent you the YOB as an FYI and not to tell you that you were wrong. I know that too often things get mixed up for some reason. ;) James

I so admire that you did that! I go on Sundays as the security is lax. The past two times I was able to get 2,800+ photos. I have added well over 5,000 memorials to date. I have been very busy with Hillside as well. I think I have hit 5,000+ there as well. When you get to be my age it is fun to find the peace of mind wandering the cemeteries while doing something awesome for others. I have a friend at Holy Cross that gives me several locations as I ask from the requests. I have 10 for tomorrow. If there are any I can get for you please don't hesitate to ask. I would love to do them. James
Hi Jane, I worked Section C recently after meeting BJ Waters at Hillside. She is such a nice lady. Anyway, it looks like you created many memorials in this section. I have added some 50+ photos to them. Did you transcribe that area at some point? Hope the two of you are well...James

I have hopefully corrected Mary Prickard's memorial to her daughter. But I think you have her in the wrong Shady Grove Cemetery. I have sent a message to Ric & Kat to correct her memorial. She is and her daughter Minnie Ola Whittington have a double marker in Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.. But there does seem to be a problem it dates..lol

Ooops. Now I remember that Harold was cremated and his ashes are buried with Flora.
|B.J. Waters||Harold Erlandson|
Hello again! I found 3 out 4 of the graves you are seeking here at IPC. But it looks like Harold was buried with Flora without having his name added to the headstone. It is interesting to note that the words "Harold's Precious" appear to have been added more recently, as the words are much whiter than the other lettering.
So, until we can find out for sure if he is buried in the same grave, I'm going to fulfill your photo request for Harold with a photo of the area which shows Flora's and Phyllis's headstone. Ira is in the row below them, several graves to the west.
The "area" photo on Ira's memorial has a caption which explains where they are in relation to Ira.

It was my pleasure!

You are so sweet! We have similar backgrounds. I was raised in the Mortuary business. My Uncle was with Utter-McKinleys, funeral director and embalmer. Like you I have seen more than most should ever see. (UGH) I saw them after your office was done with them so it was even worse...lol. James
