Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Los Angeles, CA.

I will transfer NON-family memorials according to Find-A-Grave rules but please sponsor your memorials first. Memorials I have created in the past have been deleted. It only costs $5 to sponsor a memorial.

I will be more than happy to update memorials. I am not always able to make updates daily but I do get to them, usually within a few days unless I am out of town.

You may copy my photos. All I ask is that you give me credit for them. EX: Photo courtesy of Jane Morrison

~A Poem for our Ancestors~
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

Thank you so much. I've known this history all my life. Ida lived with us growing up. But for facts, they had not relocated to North Carolina at the time of the 1900 census in Pope County, Arkansas, and are enumerated there. I also have pages of their father's family Bible. I've added one of her photographs.

I submitted an edit changing her place of birth to Arkansas. She, my Grandmother Ida, and Great Uncle George Gillespie were born there in the 1880s and relocated to North Carolina in 1900.

RE: Refugio De Toro
There was one of mine that she couldn't find, but they found the rest of the family.

RE: Refugio De Toro
My contact at Calvary was Isabel Zuniga, cemetery assistance manager. She was very helpful. The people I was searching for are in an underground vault, but their names aren't on the headstone.

RE: Refugio De Toro
I've made the link. Having done research on an old CA family whose bodies were moved from old to new Calvary, I know what you mean. With an administrator's help we were able to find one of missing. Thanks for the info on the husband. That was shocking!

I love the wording of the article, especially the part about costly presents!
