Cn You Help Me Find A Name?
I am researching for a book I am writing. I am including a segment on The Wineville Chicken Coop Murders in the mid 1920s. I tried google, yahoo, and other searches and cannot find anything on Captain JJ Jones after the entire ordeal. I know he was sued by the mother and she tried to get her payment in the 1960s. After that, I cannot find anything at all. Do you know if he has a grave on this site? I don't even known when he died.

RE: Stanley Lord
I agree. I love the tremendous respect he has. He wants to leave these wrecks alone as cemeteries. He waived his salvor in possession rights to them all. Eva Hart's autobiography speaks highly of Dr Ballard.

RE: Stanley Lord
Thank you. My fascination started at age 8 when my uncle showed me a book on famous ships. I love maritime history and the ocean. Read the books by Tim Maltin and Robert Ballard. Best ever.

RE: Stanley Lord
That's true. My uncle always believed Lord was innocent. He told me not to believe what people said. He died. But he would have loved Tim Maltin's research results. He exonerated Lord! I just hope more people see the truth and Lord can rest in peace.

RE: Stanley Lord
To some extent White Star should have done better. Sadly they did not have the science then. No one could have controlled the weather. Titanic indeed should not have been going so fast. I blame the mirages and scintellation more than anything. The laws were outdated too. So many things came together that night to sink the Titanic. We may never know the full story. She was a beautiful ship built well and had some of the best crew of her day. I do think Lord would have indeed slowed down. He did show sound judgement in waiting for daylight to continue his own journey.

Stanley Lord
I love your tributes to Stanley Lord. I was afraid to look for him here because I thought I'd see many haters. I had been curious since my teen years and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now that the science found by Tim Maltin it's so obvious he was not to blame! I just pray that more people will come to realize this. God bless you.
