Lois N. Champlain
Dear Ms. Bonafonte:
I was pleased to see your recent posting of Lois N. Champlain in the North End Cemetery at Warehouse Point, Connecticut. Until now, I wasn't sure who Lois' parents were and had guessed that they were Aaron Champlin & Elizabeth Rockwell. Aaron Champlin, as it turns out (based on the information you quoted) was Lois' uncle and William Champlin's older brother.
William & Lucinda Champlin are buried in the Springdale Cemetery at Warehouse Point.
I have visited both of these cemeteries. It is interesting to note that while Lois' grave clearly calls her "Champlain", William and Lucinda's clearly calls them "Champlin".
Champlin is the correct spelling. It is an all too common practice for other people (including some Champlin's!) to misspell our surname and to claim to have descended from explorer Samuel de Champlain (who had no children).
Thank you for correcting my error regarding Lois' parent's names.

RE: O'Keefe
Marie, Thank you for your help in linking these memorials and the cemeteries! It is the kindness of volunteers like yourself that inspired me to become a volunteer photographer for Find A Grave. Your work in both St. John's cemeteries has been very helpful to me. Thank you.

RE: Bridget Leahy
Marie, Thank you very much for editing the memorial. Yes, it is more than a bit confusing. I received an message from Find A Grave indicating your information conflicted with mine. I thought it might be easier to just create a new memorial. The Hale collection has an error for this one grave marker. And the Al Laput collection copied the information from Hale although he has added a picture. I appreciate your taking the time to do the editing. Thank you very much for all the work you have done in St. John's cemetery! The generous gift of your time is appreciated. I have wonderful memories of this cemetery. However, I now live in Pennsylvania and it has been so helpful to my research!

Hi Marie,

Betsey is my 3rd great grand aunt.
Jonathan and Elizabeth (Allen) Pasco were her parents.

Could you please transfer her and her family memorial to me if you can.

Thank you.

Fannie Herman #46243839
Hi,
Thank you for posting photos of my Great-grandparents on line. Just wanted to confirm the relationship that was marked as tentative...Morris and Fannie Herman were married to each other. I've visited their graves. The stones aren't next to each other...there was a mistake, and at some point, the space meant for Fannie(who outlived Morris by 20years) was used to bury someone else. The cemetery administration goofed. So she was buried in the closest available spot.
