Fallen Graver

Sadly, Connie F has passed away. Please consider visiting their Find a Grave memorial page and leaving some virtual flowers. Their enthusiasm for cemeteries and willingness to help future generations lives on through their contributions to Find a Grave.

Bio

When I was small and would spend the day with my grandparents, I was not allowed to cross the street. I could, however, go along with my friend Bonnie,(and her little dog, "Willie") around the block to Rosemont in Plymouth, Illinois. This started my interest in the stones as art; the history of the people in my community, and my love of cemeteries and their preservation.

Now that I live in my grandparent's house, I realize she only had to look out her back window for a fine view of the cemetery -- clever grandma!

Tim Coplin and I did mapping and a complete photocataloging of all the stones in the Old Macomb (Illinois) Cemetery. Tim also made a map of the cemetery.

I am actively working on a number of cemeteries: Mt. Horeb, in Adams Co.; Old Augusta & Woodlawn near Augusta; Rosemont, Irwin, St. Mary, all near Plymouth and Bowen all in Hancock Co.; Scott and Old Macomb in McDonough Co., and Round Prairie (Schuyler Co.)also near Plymouth,IL.

We live on the convergence of Hancock, McDonough, and Schuyler Counties in Illinois and are only a short distance to the Adams Co. line. This is an area that many pioneers passed thru or stopped over for a few years before continuing West. If you contact me, please state the cemetery which is concerned - that would help alot - thanks.

Please let me know if any of my entries need additions/corrections/deletions or if you want to assume management of an entry. If I can help in anyway, please let me know.

Happy graving to all. Connie
