You have my permission to use any headstone photo I have posted, as you wish.|
IF I HAVE CREATED A MEMORIAL OR LEFT FLOWERS AT ONE, THAT DOES NOT MEAN I KNEW THAT PERSON.
If you are responding to me because of an "edit" I sent to you or a memorial I made, PLEASE include the memorial number or the URL to that page. A simple mention of their name is not enough.
I will gladly make changes or corrections, no matter how small, if you request them. PLEASE do this by clicking on "edit" at the upper-right corner of the memorial, use their form to notify me by email. If this is your loved one, I would prefer transferring management to you. Just ask, same process.
I'm always happy to transfer to any family member. I'll never understand the reluctance of some contributors to let go of the memorials of strangers simply because they've created them. That's why we do it isn't it? For their family to find them. That's why I do it.
I have always enjoyed visiting cemeteries, especially the older, historical sections, long before I knew any of the "residents"... I am a regular visitor to Lower Lake Cemetery as it is nearest to me and I have friends and family there.
I began making entries at Find a Grave, first with ancestor's info, my parents in Hayward, then Lower Lake Cemetery because I have lived here for so long, I knew or know of many of the "residents." I knew many of these people personally and/or their families. I am not related to any of them directly. Two sets of in-laws, including my husband, many friends, high-school teachers and classmates, the doctor that delivered my son, etc., etc. My son has eight grandparents in this cemetery counting the greats- and steps-. My parents are in a Hayward cemetery because they made their own pre-need arrangements. If they were here, I would take care of them too. Thanks to Find A Grave I am able to "visit" them, add virtual flowers and notes, gather them and their families into virtual cemeteries I made for that purpose, and so on. I love that we can request headstone photos for those distant graves and get them! Usually. I DON'T LOVE THE FUSS ABOUT COPYRIGHT ISSUES THAT OCCUR OCCASIONALLY.
Every time I start to work on my family tree, I get side-tracked in the local cemetery. Since the beginning of 2011, I have been systematically photographing all the tombstones there and making memorials here. I REPEAT, FEEL FREE TO USE ANY HEADSTONE PHOTOS I HAVE ADDED AS YOU WISH!
I am always researching AKRIDGE and HAVENHILL/HEAVENHILL/HIMMELBERGER family trees... when I'm not getting lost in my neighboring cemetery.

Yes, I have had that with the editing, too. I forget to check, as well. I haven't denied any yet, though.
|Libby Talley||RE: Hello/ Groups|
I'll check with the first one. I'm in Cemetery Oddities and Homemade Headstones. I've made a few homemade ones is why I got in that one. I was in Find a Grave Volunteers and got out because there was a person being a bully and the admins weren't doing anything.
Do you know about this one:
Or this one:

I haven't noticed that Siblings has been added. Thanks for letting me know. I'm not too keen on the new editing. I always forget to look and then I'll click agree and not completely see what I need to do and/or change. I liked it better when it came in my email because I saved all of those in case something came up later about them.
I agree about the Find a Grave groups. I quit checking in all that much because of the fussing going on. It seems like a lot of people have gotten a way from what this website is about.

Hello. What does unrecorded mean? That the burial is not listed in the Cemetery Transcription? I am just curious...thanks.
|Libby Talley||RE: Hello|
Hiya! Yep, I still am active on here. How are you doing?
|Evening Blues||RE: George Keith|
I don't think you have to wait in this case. Because it is a transfer, the current owner has no way of deleting it. This is a safeguard that Find A Grave has in place to keep people from deleting memorials after a transfer.
|Evening Blues||George Keith|
You wrote to me about a memorial for George Keith.
Keith, George W 30805288 is a duplicate of the memorial I created Keith, George W 17726743. Mine was created in 2007 while the other was created a year and a half later.
I do have a memorial for Keith, George W. 17726283 but this one is a completely different person.
I did not create the duplicate. Because the duplicate was transferred to someone else by the original creator, you'll need to ask the Find A Grave admins to delete it. The current owner cannot delete a transfer.
Thank you for the quick transfer. Kris.

|Phyllis Medeiros||Martha Darnell|
Thank you for the death date. I have added the information. Now if someone could just decide if the last name is spelled Darnell or Darnall . . since it is used both ways. My mother used to say we had both Darnells and Darnalls. I'll just go by what they put on the tombstone and hope it wasn't misspelled. Thanks again.
