RE: Irwin Leroy Wakefield
Hi, Irwin's ashes are unclaimed at the State of Oregon. My Grandmother was a distant cousin, a Wakefield, but I was looking for someone closer to his line to claim them, or else we can. His father is buried at Ft. Bidwell, Modoc, California. Theodore Buchanan Wakefield. Irwin was one of the more interesting members of this family, rather infamous to the city of San Francisco. lol

"Evidence?" There is no conclusive evidence either way (although so many people seem to believe he "confessed for ice cream" etc. and I'm sure there must exist evidence for that). Forensically, the wounds on the older girl scream that it was an adolescent male who killed her.

The conviction was vacated as, frankly, he was afforded no effective defense at his trial.

This is no forum for disrespect, but you chose to sully those girls' memorial pages by stating he was innocent.

Stinney
Nothing is certain. He possibly did do it. Looking through the dust of time cannot unequivocally prove otherwise:

Orville T. Gooden
Mr. O.T.Gooden was my mother's uncle on her father's side. She was Mary Lucille Gooden Baxter. I know that Mr's Gooden had several children and also raised my uncle George Gilbert Gooden as his own when G.G.Gooden's mother Lilla died in 1929. We always called him Uncle Bud. I am trying to find the 4 sons of George Gilbert Gooden who are my first cousins. We have another mutual cousin Bill Allison who lives in Arizona and he is also hoping to find our Gooden cousins. I hope you can help/ Are you related to us? Thanks for what you do. Sherri Baxter Dempsey
