Parents added to memorial. I looked them up and added them. In the future it would really help if
you give the memorial numbers on links you want made.

Charles Spurgeon Mount
Susan,if you would notice the dates on the 2 different Charles Spurgeon Mount's you would see that this memorial is correct. One was born in 1877,the other 1931. I think this should solve your dilemma. Thanks,Wimsang

Essie Hand
Hello again Susan!
I just wanted to let you know I got your edit request. I did not have Joel Wyman Hand & Oscar Irvin Hand linked to the younger Essie Hand as her children. They are linked to her automatically through a feature find-a-grave has reimplemented, as her siblings. If someone is linked to common parents, or in Essie's case, to one common parent, it will give hints on the children's pages as to who their siblings are. Joel and Oscar are clearly marked on her page with a double asterisk, or double star, next to their names, which notes that they are her half siblings.

Sorry for the confusion!
I will let you know if I find anything else about the Hand family soon! I recently found some new newspaper archives that might be of help.

RE: Essie Hand 1871-1893
Hi Susan!
Sorry it has taken a little bit to get back to you.
To answer your question, I found William through a census. On the 1900 or 1910 census I believe. He is listed with Elizabeth, father and step-mother, and their younger half brother.

What other biographical information do you have on Essie? Have you found her on any other records before? If I had some more parameters to work with, it might make it a lot easier to track down her family. Even having an idea of her place of birth will be helpful. Essie may be a nickname, so it is helpful having as much info as possible as I search the records.

RE: Essie Hand 1871-1893
Here is what I have found so far.

Essie Hand:
After doing some digging, I found that Essie was married to one Samuel A. Hand. Besides the twins, it would seem that they had at least two other
children. Those children were Elizabeth R. Hand, born in 1889, and William D. Hand, born in 1891. If Elizabeth was their first child, then this would mean they were likely married in 1888, when Essie was 17.

After her death in 1893, Samuel remarried a woman by the name of Ida Emma Simmons. I don't know exactly how many children they had, but I have found 2 sons so far. On his death certificate, Samuel is listed as having been born 21 Aug 1852 in North Carolina. His parents were Pinckney Hand and Rhoda Rolland. He died 7 Dec 1928 in Bamberg, Bamberg County, South Carolina. He and Ida are buried in South End Cemetery in Bamberg. (It is noted that he was an Insurance Agent).

I have not found much of anything on Essie so far. Do you have any ideas as to who her parents might be? Do you think that she is somehow related to Aaron Radcliff?

As for M.E. Tant, are you sure that it's May? You said previously that the dates don't match up correctly. Please let me know, since I don't want to link them up incorrectly.

Still working on M.J. Radcliff. I'll let you know as soon as I find something!
