|Bio and Links|
|◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a grave registration website.|
Find A Grave's mission is 'graves registration'. While the site is also a 'genealogical resource', it is not a site designed to record a family tree.
Links to burial unknowns will not be made, as per Find-a-grave's preferences. "Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days."
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your spouse, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, great-grandparents, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When requesting a transfer, please state your relationship to the individual.
For any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc), you can add them to a Virtual Cemetery you create.
"Suggest a correction" is used to submit corrections, an original biography, and family links to memorials.
We assist family members maintain suitable memorials for their loved ones who wish to remain anonymous.
