Henry Harmon
I looked at that gravestone and to me it looks like 19th Michigan infantry. His Civil War Pension record reads Company H, 19th Michigan infantry. His widow, Mattie, applied for his pension Aug 26 1892. Found his death record says he died July 6 1892 as a result of a water tank falling on him. A marriage record shows he was born in Genesee County, New York and was age 33 in 1875 making him born about 1842.

More info found about our Henry J Harmon. A civil war pension record giving his wife's name as his widow, named Matie, she was called Matie even though her name was matilda. Still looking for a death record ..

Your memorial for Henry Harmon seems unsure.
We have a Henry J Harmon missing from the 1850-1860 census as far as I can tell. He was born in 1842 Genesee County NY, but lived in Milan Michigan of Monroe County and supposedly died there in 1892. Have not been able to locate a grave for him or a death record as yet. Don't even know for sure if he was in the Civil War. But this is certainly a possibility. Our Henry J Harmon lived in that area.I will keep checking to see if I can find some kind of record for Henry for the time period of the civil war.
