I'm a Mother of 4 adult children, (is that an oxymoron? lol) 2 sons, 2 daughters. I have 12 marvelous grandchildren, a fantastic, loving husband whom I've been married to for 42 yrs. on Sept. 21, 2016. And now our first Great Grandchild, Gysele Mei has arrived at 28 wks. She's doing well so far. I'm the oldest of my 2 sisters & one brother. I've been a laryngectomee since Nov. 1999. Oh ya, I'm a redheaded Indian gal. |
Some of my ancestors are Chase, Campbell, Wabasha, Morelock, Moman, & Cress. My husbands family names are Bryan, Bowen, Goodman, Goodpasture, Hollingsworth, Burge and O'Dell.
If I've added your family member or friend & you want ownership, let me know so I can transfer it. I have no problem transferring. I do transfer outside of the FAG guidelines and have done so many times. As long as you don't delete the said memorial as per FAG guidelines, I'm fine with that.
If you find two memorials for the same person, what I do is asked to have them merged. I believe
the one with the headstone gets ownership.
If you email me, please put "FINDAGRAVE" in the subject area or it will get lost in my junk folder. NOT--FORWARDED because that = FW:Findagrave, and they go to the junk folder too. The best thing to do is use the EDIT BUTTON & then SUGGEST A CORRECTION so it goes to my INBOX.
If you come across any additions to the memorials I've created or better ones, please feel free to email them to me using the Edit & Suggest A Correction feature on the memorial. I will be happy to add/change them.
I have entered a lot of memorials with no cemetery because a lot of people don't bury their loved ones these days, but if you know where they're buried, please merge mine with that one. I won't mind at all.
***"I am currently making Mount Saint Scholastica Cemetery a summer project. I'm working on cleaning the mold off of the headstones & photographing them for any that do not have photos. It's a big project & I don't know when I will complete it as once I get that done, I'm hoping to repair some of the ones that are crumbling. Wish me luck!"***
################################################## I have just changed my volunteer photographing status. I live in Atchison, Kansas. Very close to Mount St. Scholastic Cemetery (over the hill) and Mt. Vernon Cemetery (down the road). All the rest are not that far either since Atchison is not too large. :) If I can help you with photos, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll get to them, weather permitting. I will get to some as soon as I can.
May the Creator bless you.
P.S. If you've used a different emailing method, sorry, I probably won't see it because it's went to my junk folder. Thanks!
New "Automated" system for "Suggest a Correction/Submit an Edit"
New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013 (This works great!!)
Go to your Contributor/Profile page.
Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you. Then just review and accept.
Way easier for doing updates to names/dates/ places/plot #s/links to spouse/s and parents.
You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section.

Thank you for writin'.
Hmmm, I looked into my family tree and found both Ardyth Strine and Beulah (Strine) Moman.
Gosh, all I have is a photo of each of their grave markers, nothin' else.
If I come across anything like an obituary or some other mention of them, I will let you know!
Are you born into the Strine family or married into it? Just curious. I am Strine by birth.

Looked at all the "usual" sites, and couldn't find where the info came from so I removed it.
Thanks for letting me know.

Sue - everything I have says "Levings." My great-grandmother was a Levings, and the two Sisters were her Aunts. I also have a copy of Philomena's newspaper obituary if you'd be interested in that?

It's deleted. Also deleted another this morning. If there are more, let me know.
I live in Topeka now but was born and raised in Atchison. Left in 12/1961.
So glad you are doing this at the Mt. S cemetery. It's a great service and this is one of the most peaceful and pretty cemeteries I've visited. I have family in Mt. Vernon--Reids and Underwoods; some in the old and some in the newer sections.

Doing pretty good. Haven't been able to do any graving yet (between the weather and only 1 car...).
I'm thinking of coming up sometime either Sep or Oct and try to do some Mt Vernon, since there's quite a few there and I can 'map' many of those.
No, sorry... was never able to get in touch with someone that would send a map copy. Someone up at St. Benedict's but I don't know who. I'd try to call the number on their sign.
How have you been? Teamwork is great, isn't it? :)
Have a great week(end) :)

A new pic after cleaning the marker would be great!

Gosh, I don't recall it at all! My husband passed away this past winter, and since then I've done little on Find A Grave (or anything other than estate and moving chores). I believe you've sent me other messages for other Mt. S tombstones; if I've ignored--and I probably have--please remind me. Thanks for all the work you do at Mt. S; it is a lovely, peaceful place.
