I just love walking through cemeteries photographing headstones as there are usually so many interesting ones. It's amazing how much information one can get from these headstones, especially the older ones. I believe in immortalizing what we can of these stones for the future and let others know that at one point in time, these people lived. |
Please remember to ALWAYS thank the Photo Volunteer for their time in locating your family's grave and taking the photo for you. Many people are becoming very rude in not thanking those who go out of their way to help them and many requests go unfulfilled because of it. Remember we are in this together to help each other and a simple Thank You goes a long way.
Feel free to use the photos of your loved ones resting place for your genealogy research and your personal family tree.
REMEMBER: The United States Social Security Death Index ONLY gives the last known address or location lived in and the state where the number was issued. It does NOT mean that the person was born there or died there.
PLEASE, PLEASE SEND ALL CORRECTIONS, ADDITIONS, LINKS, ETC FROM THE EDIT BUTTON (THAT IS WHY IT IS THERE) ON THE MEMORIAL. IT WILL SAVE SO MUCH TIME IN SEARCHING FOR THE CORRECT MEMORIAL AS THE NUMBERS THAT ARE TYPED IN ON EMAILS AND IN THE MESSAGE BOARD ARE NOT ALWAYS GOING TO THE CORRECT MEMORIALS.
PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR TRANSFERS ON THIS PAGE AS THEY WILL NOT BE ANSWERED. USE THE EDIT TAB FOR THE MEMORIAL IN QUESTION AND CLICK ON OTHER SUGGESTION. THANK YOU.
Note about the Edit selections: Since this has now made it easier for people to send in changes on dates, names, death and birth locations and links to family, I have been finding that many edits have been INCORRECT and I am the one that receives the NASTY emails from those who find it hard to be polite and ask nicely to fix the errors that are sent by other contributors who try hard to help make the memorials complete. FROM NOW ON!!!!!....I will NOT accept ANY edit until I have researched what is sent. To make the edits faster, emailing me the information at the same time would make it easier to know WHERE the information is coming from and this includes FAMILY LINKS.

I was wondering where you got the obituaries of the several members of the Guerin Family in Waukegan out of the Chicago Tribune. Where did you get them?

Hi, I'm a descendant of John A. Linn and was wondering if this is his grave you have listed here. I'm kind of guessing its my 3x grandfather because he operated the Linn Brothers Funeral Home in Chicago so I'd expect his family to give him an elaborate mausoleum. Is there any way to find out for sure? Does the cemetery have any records I could see when I get to Chicago? Thanks!
Thanks so much for the really great pictures!

I wanted to leave a note thanking you, I never knew my grandfather Chester Hughes (1926-1966) was even buried in Zion and it gives me great joy that you took the time out the post his marker it lets me continue the work that I have been doing in trying to connect the dots in my family tree.
Once again thank you
