I just love walking through cemeteries photographing headstones as there are usually so many interesting ones. It's amazing how much information one can get from these headstones, especially the older ones. I believe in immortalizing what we can of these stones for the future and let others know that at one point in time, these people lived. |
I have spent many long hours, days, months photographing (and still working on) the following cemeteries: Oakwood Cemetery and St. Mary's Cemetery in Waukegan, Mount Olivet and Oakdale in Zion and Pineview in Beach Park.
Remember to ALWAYS thank the Photo Volunteer for their time in locating your family's grave and taking the photo for you. Many people are becoming very rude in not thanking those who go out of their way to help them and many requests go unfulfilled because of it. Remember we are in this together to help each other and a simple Thank You goes a long way.
Feel free to use the photos of your loved ones resting place for your genealogy research and your personal family tree.
I will be more than happy to add information to the memorial if you have more than what is listed but please make sure you INCLUDE WHERE YOU FOUND THE INFORMATION FROM (i.e.: familysearch.org, census, IDS (Illinois Death Stillbirth index), family bible, etc) as I do credit the person giving the information.
If you are a family member to the deceased (and I am not related in any way to the person on the memorial) and you would like to have your family transferred to you, please click on the EDIT button and click "correction" and just ask for the changes or transfer (please state your relationship with the deceased.) I will NOT transfer a memorial just because you asked to take over the maintenance of one or for you to just add information to.
I will not respond to transfer requests for a memorial from the message board here or from email. Thank you

Thanks! Yes, I have her death certificate which also has the incorrect burial information listed too. It is a very confusing situation, especially since Mt. Olivet in Waukegan no longer exists. But her obit lists her burial in Mt. Olivet, and Ascension records confirm that she was moved there to the new "Joseph Wall" family plot in 1928, and she is even listed as "Mary Genty Wall" on the grave stone itself. All the dates match up perfectly. I will keep an eye out in case anyone else creates a new memorial. Thanks again for all your hard work on F.A.G.!!!
|Susan Ann Blakley||Re: Find A Grave Correction: Fred Blakey|
I corrrected the cemetery to Mount Olivet Memorial Park Zion Lake County.
Thanks for letting me now know the correct cemetery and for the photo. I'll add where Fred Blakey is buried too...~~ section Rev. C 205 1.
God Bless you.
Just dropping you a line to let you know that I made the transfer to you. Love nothing more than being able to put people into the care of family. Have a great day.
