Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started working on my family's genealogy
several years ago. I currently live in New Hampshire and my roots are primarily in New England and New Brunswick, Canada. Among the family surnames I am researching are Dunton, Borey, Finch, Whittemore, Derby and LaFountain.

For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed visiting cemeteries. I find them very peaceful and a wonderful break from life's daily stresses.

Transfer requests outside of the guidelines will be decided on a case by case basis. When requesting a transfer please state what the relationship is to you. Just saying they are family is not sufficient. I will check your profile prior to transfer to make sure you aren't just a collector, but are a contributing member. If you want to collect family, you can use a virtual cemetery for that purpose. I would also like to add that asking nicely will go much farther than rude demands.

Please send all requests for corrections, links, bios and transfers using the edit tab on the memorial. Please do not leave them on my messages as they will be ignored. The edit tab makes it much easier and there is less chance of mistakes.

If I have a question regarding a correction you send and you have your messages and email turned off, I will not make the correction. It is very hard to have a one way conversation.

I will not make any links to a burial unknown. This site is named Find A Grave for a reason. If you do not know the final disposition, you should not be creating a memorial just to link family members. There are other sites available for building your family tree.

I spend a lot of time traveling, photographing, editing and posting my photos because I love doing it. It also gives me a lot of satisfaction if I can help others find their family. I do not mind if you use the photos for personal use, but please give credit.

RE: Suggestions for Johnsons
Hi, I'm new at this and I guess I didn't understand the protocol. My intent is to take as many pictures at the Old Settlers Cemetery as I can as it seems like every winter as the stones become more fragile and we lose a few more. I did the research on each person at the Historical Society thinking it would be helpful. I just learned how to pass on the information. Sorry you couldn't use what I had done. Guess I'll just do the pictures. I also love old cemeteries and find them calming and peaceful.

RE: Sylvanus Hayward
I hope they will do this, it will avoid future confusion and unintentional errors for those willing to accept what they see on websites without further digging.

RE: Sylvanus Hayward
Thank you, I'm glad you agree that this is the right Mary. Without that book and the pages about who is buried next to who it would have remained a mystery. Thanks for updating her memorial. She was born in Jan. 1760, but there is confusion about her actual birthdate. The book said the 28th of Jan., but church records have her baptized on the 26th. Now, that would be quite the challenge.

RE: Sylvanus Hayward
I have been reading the 'History of the town of Gilsum, New Hampshire from 1752 to 1879 by Sylvanus Hayward(Manchester, N.H.:J. B. Clarke, 1881) and have been finding all kinds of interesting things. After Sylvanus died Mary married Benjamin Hosmer and is buried under that name right next to Sylvanus whose first wife, Olive, is buried on the other side of Sylvanus. Buried as "Mary Hosmer, died July 30, 1841, age 81." The age fits her birth year. So I think I've found her burial place. What are your thoughts?

RE: Sylvanus Hayward
I had not read this before sending you a message as to the source for Mary and Sylvanus' wedding. Please just delete that. I understand now the reason for not accepting my data. Is it possible to just add a note to Sylvanus' biography?
Thank you for your work on his memorial. It is very informative. Jane
