I live in Trumbull County and am retired from the Local History & Genealogy Center of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library. |
I am in the process of photographing Meadowbrook Memorial Cemetery in Champion. I have recently finished Deacon Creek/Kagy Cemetery in Bristolville.
As I upload photos to Find-A-Grave, I also plan to upload them to ohiogravestones.org. It appears (to me) that the pictures are of better quality on that site; however, there is not as much information as here on Find-A-Grave.
I center my Find-A-Grave work on northern Trumbull County - Mespo to Kinsman to Hartford to Southington, with primary focus on Champion.
If I'm not able to find a stone you request, I'll see if I can at least point you in another reliable direction.

No, I'm not related to them. I just figured I'd go and do some of the photo requests for Green Haven since its close to home and a much smaller and easier cemetery than the one I usually go to :). My condolences in regards to the passing of your mom

Eschol Casino's husband, James also had a separate military headstone. I will save the photo and if you wanted to make a memorial for him I would be happy to upload it.

I greatly appreciate all your efforts & time with trying to locate their stones & their whereabouts ~ thank you!

Thanks for the compliment, but the secret to a good photograph is a combination of things, the most important of which is the sun. It should be at a low angle relative to the surface of the stone. This means that when it is just right you have to be very fast in order to get as many pictures as possible.
When I took the photos at Fowler North it was extremely hot which always makes it more difficult. Of course, all of the stones will not be in an optimal position, and, every cemetery is different. I then will tweak the contrast just a bit with Photoshop.
I normally use a mirror to redirect the light but didn't need to at Fowler. Using a mirror requires a second person, and my wife usually helps me.
I hope this helps a little.

Thank so much for the marker photos! I actually called the sexton for burial info and he said they were in German Reformed. Thanks, too, for the correction! I truly appreciate your time and trouble!

Hi Sherry, Charlie took photos about 2010. He did the entire cemetery. I have only found one memorial he missed. Pretty good odds for the size of the cemetery. Have a blessed day.

Thanks for all you do at preserving history.
