Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and live in western New York State. I have a passion and interest in cemeteries. This hobby that some might find unusual is otherwise known as Grave Chasing. I do have a strong interest in the living, as well, and have attended over 500-concerts, plays, lectures, and live theatrical performances in the last 35 years. My areas of interest in "grave chasing" center around popular culture—specifically the areas of music, film, art, and true crime. I've visited the graves of such famous (and infamous) individuals as Maxwell Anderson, Susan B. Anthony, Lucille Ball, Lizzie Borden, Chef Boyardee, Louise Brooks, Truman Capote, Thomas Cottonaro (Oz munchkin), Hart Crane (cenotaph),Joan Crawford, Divine, Patty Donahue, Frederick Douglass, Peter Duel, Thomas Eakins, George Eastman, Totie Fields,Stephen Foster, Benjamin Franklin, Alan Freed, President James Garfield, Judy Garland, Errol Garner, Frank Gorshin, Glenn Gould, Corey Haim, Henry John Heinz, Gregory Hines, Sara Hinson, Tim Horton, Rick James, Helen Keller, President John F. Kennedy,Victor Kugler, Jayne Mansfield, Billy Mays, Marilyn Monroe, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Benjamin Orr, Kristen Pfaff, Edgar Allan Poe, John D. Rockefeller, Mr.(Fred) Rogers, Betsy Ross, Lillian Russell, Rod Serling, Sam Sheppard, Bessie Smith, Dr. Bob Smith, Joey Stefano (unmarked),Ed Sullivan,Tammi Terrell, Harry K. Thaw, William Warfield, Andy Warhol, August Wilson, President Woodrow Wilson, and players in the Cleveland Torso Killer case (Edward Andrassy, Florence Pollilo, Elliot Ness), Francis Tumelty (Jack the Ripper suspect), Johnstown Flood victims, Kent State Massacre victims(Jeffrey Miller and Allison Krause), and victims and survivors of the sinking of the Titanic (Edward and Ethel Beane, Edward Austin Kent, and May Elizabeth Howard).

Baerwalt (s)
Hello, I have just found that you have put pictures on line of my husband's family (Berwalt/ Baerwalt / Berwald). August M Baerwalt, and wife Marie are his great grandparents and August Baerwalt Jr. is his grandfather.
August's oldest daughter Florence (Lipka) is my husband's mother. I would LOVE to have these pictures. Is it possible. My email is and my Ancestry tree is under "Lipka". Thank you so much for any help. Gail Lipka

Bob Mizer
Any idea where the Bob Mizer grave is? That cemetery is difficult to maneuver. Thanks.

RE: Owings
Hello Chris,
I'm not the person in charge of the memorials for Alma and Frank Owings. You'll have to go to the memorials and click on EDIT or contact Scott Hayes who made the memorials. Sorry I can't do it for you. Have a good weekend.

You're welcome! I live pretty far from LA as well...about 2300 miles...visit there every couple of years. As you know, Westwood is a great place to cover in a short amount of time, so it's easy to check for new names each visit. Great that you have a prime spot reserved for yourself near Janet Leigh!

just to let you know it started raining as I was taking the pictures of your family. I will try to go back some time in the next 2 weeks to retake their pictures. But I posted the pictures that I took anyway.

Dave Barbour (#90149661)
Dave's spouse was Peggy Lee (#6107216). Please link him to her (if you still can, if famous status hasn't been granted to him yet). Thanks.

RE: J. Stephens
You're welcome for the photos, Chris. Yes, it's always sad when they are unmarked, particularly in this case. Wish the results could have been better.

I went to load pictures of her marker and Rose Garden where her ashes were scattered only to find you had added pictures of her books. How cool!!!
How did you find that newly created memorial page so fast? I want to nominate her for famous status so please look for that as I just did that today so you can vote.

Westwood Memorial
I tried to take pictures of all the walls the last time I was there but, unfortunately, now that I'm working with them, a lot of the plaques aren't readable. I've just added a pic to another of your memorials (Richard Ziser). I've been visiting Westwood off and on for the last 40 years and have watched it grow. We appear to have a common passion for the place. Take care.
