Editorial: One of the joys of Find A Grave is that some contributors use computer databases to create thousands of memorials, some enjoy walking cemeteries and photographing tombstones, others are happiest linking memorials, and some honor the deceased by adding documents that enhance our understanding of their lives. Rather than complaining about the work of other contributors, let's be grateful for the diversity of contributions.
Phony "rules": A few contributors make up faux rules like, "No death certificates on my memorials," despite the fact that the FAQs are perfectly clear that, "Death certificates may be added...." Maybe these folks missed the "follow the rules" and "play nicely with others" lessons in kindergarten?

|Shirley Gragg||RE: Thank you|
Wonderful!!!!! I am SO GLAD you know him! He's been my mentor all these many years [I'm a 'jenny-come-lately'] to guide me in my Wright family research.
|Shirley Gragg||RE: Thank you|
Jay - hi. Thanks for the info; it's appreciated. IF you ever need any more info on your VA Wright's [unfortunately, not related to me. It's surprising how many families of the same name are not genetically - DNA - related :^) ] - I have a contact who - I believe - has written about that line. Are you familiar with Robert Grant? If not, email me personally and I can give you the address.
Again, thanks for the update on your Wright's.
|Shirley Gragg||Thank you|
Thank you for leaving the memorial at 69112058 for Silas VanWinkle, the grandson of Delilah Wright Crecelius. Delilah was a daughter of Peter Wright of NC who died in 1821 in Harrison County, IN.
If by any chance you are related to that line of Wright's, I have information to gladly share. ‘My’ original Wright formed in early 1700’s MD [may have been English] was a Philbert Wright. Line further moved – mid-1750’s – to southwest VA; then into Randolph County, NC abt 1760’s and their descendants later on ‘into the west’.
|Debbie Whaley||RE: Your suggestion re Elizabeth|
Recently, I was able to view an image of her father's will, in which he listed the names of all of his children, living and deceased, including Elizabeth and Eliza Jane. With names so similar and birth dates so close together, it is confusing, and I was glad for the clarification. I hope this helps.
Looking for Rev. Edward E. Holmes? Look in the Owingsville Cemetery, Owingsville, Bath Co., KY.
The stone reads Rev. E. E. Holmes and his 2nd wife Louise Hutcheson who died Nov 12, 1940, Bath Co., KY is buried with him.

Thank you for editing the bio on Phebe Gard's memorial and adding their son!
|Melissa Mihal||RE: cause of death of Francis A. Bradfield|
I added your quote about the cause of death (with a shout-out of thanks to you), but I don't understand the end where it says "JNO R. Pirtle S. Up." Do you have any idea what "Pirtle S. Up" means, or could that be a typo?
Thank you for that! The phrase in question is in reference to where he died. Just North Of = JNO, R. Pirtle = under who's *direct* command. S. Up = South Upstream. I inquired as to what this meant and was told by a historian.
|Melissa Mihal||RE: Your correction re Francis Bradfield|
Thanks for your SAC re the date of death for Francis Bradfield. As you probably noticed, I had cited a source for the Apr 4, 1862, date of death I posted, but you didn't tell me any source for the Apr 3 date you believe to be correct. Could you please let me know your source so I can include it on the memorial?
Date of death came from the "US Registers of Death of Volunteers 1861-1865"
|Scotty||RE: Thanks re Figgins-Feagans|
Thanks for follow-up! I have noticed that you and I share a desire to untangle things so I was pleased to be able to contribute my little piece. I looked at the Pickaway County group of Feagans and I still do not think they are related to my Feagins. Regardless of that I always wanted to untie some knots over there to help a guy who contacted me 10+ years ago. Maybe I can still find his address. All the best to you.
