Find a Grave has been a great resource for freely sharing information among researchers. I am rather concerned that Ancestry.com will figure out a way to screw it all up like they have with RootsWeb. I would like to think that they learned their lesson from all the negative publicity they received in that earlier takeover, but they are so focused on the Almighty Dollar that it's hard to predict -- their corporate greed overwhelms both their common sense and common decency. If they begin to charge or otherwise restrict access (mandatory registration or tracking cookies) in order to view the photos and data that have been freely donated by millions of volunteers, I know that I will immediately delete any of the items that I still have control over.|
You may freely use any of the grave photos which I have taken for any legal purpose. The other items (personal photos, obits and other documents) may have copyright restrictions of which I am unaware, so use your own best judgement on those.

|Bill Cummings||Leroy Wilson|
Bob, I,m Bill Cummings and I am married to Shelia (Wilson) daughter of Lewis Danford Wilson and grand daughter of Leroy and Lela Wilson. Leroy was born in Port Huron St. Clair County, Michigan 11/23/1887, later he moved to Grand Junction Colorado. We are planning a trip to Grand Junction Colorado soon. This is where Shelias dad was born. Do you have any idea if any family is still there or if there are family members in Michigan?
Thanks for any help you can extend

|Darcy ||Eles Ann Vorhies|
The Montesano city clerk e-mailed me this "Nathan Vorhees is located in the Original Addition 24th Block 3rd Grave. Ellice Vorhees is in the same location but 2nd Grave."
Since there are no graves within about 10 feet on either side of Eles, I am guessing that Nathan's grave is unmarked.

I am glad that Eles is Ellice! This was my first grave search request and it was an adventure. I went ahead and posted some photos of her grave. I didn't try to edit the name or DOD. There appears to be a word (or words) carved under her DOD, but I cannot make it out. I will also report a "problem" on her husband Nathan's photo request. Best wishes! Darcy

I added profiles w/headstone photos for a Leah and Eclaire Wilson who were also buried in the same area.
|Martin Burrell||Allingham - I sent this to the owner|
There is a good chance that nothing will be done with this information. But, I tried.
Hope your day goes well.
(1) Please, correct William L. Allingham's initial... it should be... 'M'. This was the first child of Margaret Jane [Davidson] and David Allingham. Please, refer to the obit that is located on his memorial. It has the correct initial.
(1) Son, William [L to M] Allingham -- Find A Grave# 76070633
(2) Add... Father: David W. Allingham -- Find A Grave# 76070623
(3) ADD... Mother: Margaret Jane Allingham -- Find A Grave#
(4) Please, add his mothers middle name.... Jane. Her middle name is found in her husband's Oregon Donation Land Records. I left this information on her memorial. Just click on it twice and her middle name can be seen. Transcribed from his application for his ODLC.
(5) Please, add the following paragraph on David's memorial...
David's brother, William W. Allingham, arrived in Oregon two years before David, on 18 Nov 1850. He also filed for an Oregon Donation Land Claim, No. #2789, in Linn County; his birth was in 1825 or 1826, Warren County, Kentucky; he secured his claim on 15 Sept 1854; he married Sarah Bramwell on 09 Aug 1855, Linn County, Oregon Territory. David wrote an affidavit testifying as to his brother's good character to help him secure the donation land claim.
David's brother is buried in the Coburg IOOF Cemetery, Coburg, Lane, Oregon. FindAGrave.com... Find A Grave# 41650109. He likely followed one of his children to the Coburg area.
Thank You. MSB

I wish I could have removed all those messages that I sent and replaced it with one. Sometimes my I get ahead of myself and then regret it.
Your doing a 'very good' job. I may be wrong; but what I do is add the source information in the box hidden at the bottom of the obit.
Do you see a problem with doing it that way?. I remind people that the source info has to be kept with the obit. Then finish by saying ....It is the Law.
This is easy for me. Is it too easy?
Thanks for your input, Martin
