I have always taken an interest in history and genealogy which I inherited from my gr-grandfather Porter Matteson. I find this site helps me to help others find their loved ones, even if they can't actually visit the graves. I enjoy helping with this mission. My goal is to eventually have most of the tombstones in McLennan County, Texas online for everyone to see.|
I am willing to do some research if needed in McLennan and Falls County.

Hello CouchPotato, Would you have information regarding the 1900 Coryell TX Census for William H. Kinsey's boarder, James D. Oats (sp? James David OATES was my husband's grandfather. He was born in 1876 in Missouri to James David Oates (Sr) and Martha Smith. He is said to have had a brother named Tom but I have nothing on him either.
James David is listed with his parents on the 1880 Butler Co, Missouri Census. I have found Kinsey's and Morris' in MO. Lillie B Morris Kinsey (wife of William H Kinsey) was listed in the 1880 Piney, Texas County, MO census. I think some of the Kinsey's were neighbors to the Oates. I can find no record of James David Oates parents before 1880. I know of his spouse and children. It is thought that James David was orphaned at some point in time. I don't know when he came to Texas. I know it's a long shot but thought you might have information you could share regarding James David Oates and his ancestors. Thank you for any help you may offer.

Do you know by chance what the birth year reads in the photo you added for Gerald Teenor? I don't know if this is the person I'm looking for or not. The birth year will help. Thank you
