The Photo in my profile is where my Mama was born along with her siblings Her home was located in what was known as LeGette, Marion, SC .
This old house holds many memories of my childhood. I loved to hear Mama tell the stories of siblings and her growing up. One story that really sticks in my memory was at Christmas time. Having 5 brothers and 4 sisters things were tight. The boys received a basketball and fruit. The girls received a doll and fruit. They were all so excited to receive these items from Santa. So little but so grateful and thankful!
Believe it or not a few yards in front of the house was the railroad tracks. Hobo's use to get off and come to the back of the house and grandma would give them a biscuit and fatback. I use to swing on an old tire hanging from the tree in front of the house and wave as the train went by. Those were the good old days. Carefree and just being a child.

~ Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear~
